Been hearing all this Manny Pacquiao bashing from his former station. Apparently Manny couldn't accept Korina's "constructive criticism" during his run for a congressional seat in Mindanao. Korina apparently doesn't know the saying, "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all." He went straight to Gabby Lopez to demand her hide or he will leave ABS CBN. Apparently there was not that much publicity noise when he moved to GMA 7, but only erupted to a full blown word war when he turned down Mayor Lim's parde through Manila. Even Korina joined the fray calling Manny " the most maangas, epal, mayabang, tanga at bobo na tao na nakilala nya sa tanang buhay nya..." I was listening to a comment by a call in listener on DZMM last Saturday afternoon and she called ABS CBN "walang utang na loob" after raking in millions and now they are out to destroy Manny. Yung irony is when you watch ANC advertisement for Korina's Talk Show. There is a clip of her interviewing him where in she goes: "palakpakan natin si Manny..." tsk tsk tsk.

Halatang gusto nilang mabawi yung pagkalaki-laking talent fee na binayad nila kay Manny by allocating all available airtime for sponsors. In contrast, ABS-CBN could never raise that amount without violating the KBP's imposed limit on commercial airtime loads, which is why GMA-7 very conveniently opted to break away from the KBP.

Incidentally, yesterday’s story about Pacman and Korina Sanchez needs a clarification.

The Funfare informer said that several weeks before last May’s elections, there was a survey in Gensan naming Darling Antonino as a runaway winner in the congressional race against Pacman. The story came from a Gensan correspondent and before Korina and co-host Ted Failon could report it in their dzMM program Failon at Sanchez, it was “leaked” by an ABS-CBN insider to Pacman’s group and somebody close to Pacman requested for an embargo, saying that the Pacman group also did a survey in which Pacman emerged as the winner. Korina waited for the survey to be sent to her but when it didn’t come after a few days, she decided to air the survey in which Darling was the winner.

“That made Pacman and the people around him angry,” explained the Funfare informer. “One thing led to another, until Korina learned that Pacman, or the people around him, requested the ABS-CBN boss(es) to fire Korina. The request was never granted.” (Pacman denied having made such a request.)

Also, in yesterday’s Failon and Sanchez, Korina and Ted clarified that they never mentioned and/or criticized on their program Pacman’s alleged gambling, which prompted Pacman to make an “inggit lang sila” comment in last Saturday’s edition of Startalk.
