Give some books na sa tingin nyo worthwhile basahin![]()
im not really a book worm but the only book i have finished is paulo coehlos alchemist. im not sure if i remember this right but ive also read in good company. :D
The last novel of Mario Puzo - The Family
For me, since its lenten,i suggest we should read the bible... to reflect or somehow easen our stress or yet, pugad baboy or something funny and something interesting to read.
I don't have a single favorite book..........
I've read just about every single Ballantine book (my dad's collection) about
WW2 starting when I was just 9.
I also read books on military hardware such as those by Steven Zaloga, books
about great land/sea/air battles, esp the carrier battles in the Pacific Theater
of WW2 and the Philippines. I also own a number of those big coffee table
hardbound books such as Carrier War, The Israeli War Machine, Great Land Battles
Of Ww2, The Falklands, etc
I also have a fascination for any WW2 Japanese fighter plane besides the
stereotypical A6M Zero and Ki-43 Oscar. These include the Ki-61 Tony, N1K2
George, and Ki-84 Frank. Most of my material on these are magazines, not books.
Hand in hand with these aircraft are stories about the Japanese aces that flew
them (eg Maj kobayashi and his distinctively marked Ki-61). I've posted enough pics of them as my sig here from time to time.
Other eras I'm fascinated with:
- The Indian Wars of the US west.
- The Crusades
- The American Civil War (I have the Time-Life American Civil War leatherbound set.)
- Japanese*, Chinese, and Philippine History
- American history especially the period from isolation to imperialism/colonialism
The more mundane:
- I read The Hobbit, Lord Of The Rings, Maps of Middle Earth regularly.
- Books and magazines on scale models/dioramas
- Star Wars. I have several source books on the Star Wars universe which was why the last 3 Star Wars movies were no surprise to me.
* That's why animes like Gintama appeal to me. Looking beyond face value, it's easy to see Gintama parallel many aspects of actual Japanese history.

wala akong best book since i also read a lot. you may want to check out the current book i'm reading - [ame=http://www.amazon.com/33-Strategies-War-Robert-Greene/dp/0670034576]33 Strategies of War[/ame]. i just started reading this; its very interesting.
there's a few fantasy/sci-fi books i can recomment if you're into it:
- the sword of truth series. series has ended so di na nakakabitin.
- the song of ice and fire series. with robert jordan dead and the sword of truth series ended, this is the next best ongoing high fantasy series.
- the death gate cycle series. the best work of weis and hickman. this is a classic.
+1
lets also not forget
Dragonlance - weis and hickman
Dune - frank herbert - later prequels by brian herbert and kevin j anderson
Wheel of time - yes jordan is dead but this still stands toe to toe with the sword of truth (though i do like the characters in sword of truth more)
Belgariad, Malloreon, Elenium - david eddings - these arent such a good read after jordan and goodking but are a good intro to the fantasy world
Riftwar Saga, Demonwar Saga - Raymong Feist
Tai-pan and Noble House - james clavell
and lots lots more![]()

Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
The Brotherhood of the Holy Shroud
The Looking Glass Wars (book 1), Seeing Redd (book 2)
The Golden Compass (book 1), The Subtle Knife (book 2), The Amber Spyglass (book3)
The Expected One
I'm now reading the Templar Legacy after that I'm going to read the Bible of Clay...
books waiting in line to be read:
Heroes
The Knights of the Black & White (book 1), Standard of Honor (book2)
Scar Night (book 1 - Deepgate Codex Trilogy)
The Legend of Drizzt (books 1 - 6)
- The Ninja. kaso this is a very old book. naswertehan ko lang sa Booksale. this was published in 1980.
Di ako mahilig magbasa ng libro, pero ito ang librong nagustuhan ko-'Waltzing with a dictator' by Raymond Bonner...a book about the relationship of the American governmant and the late former president Marcos![]()
Two books I enjoyed reading (and don't mind reading over and over):
Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder (1991) --> philosophy lessons disguised as a novel.
Even Cowgirls Get The Blues by Tom Robbins (1976) --> old title, but one that I still find hilarious to this day. Since the copy I got was missing the last couple of chapters or so, I never got to know how the story ended. Naghahanap tuloy ako ng kopya sa mga second-hand book stores.
