    Hi all,

    Made sure my ride is safe from flash floods and have never experienced flood deep enough to reach the under chassis. First notice the foul smell after a normal car wash, haven't notice the same smell after using a car air freshner. Then after sometime condensation started to appear inside, mold on the leather seats, lo and behold when the rear matting was removed there's water on the floorboard both in rear passenger, and front passenger, only the driver side is spared, the spare tire is a bit wet too. Can you recommend shops that specializes in this kind of issues that will not break the bank? Preferably in Manila or Makati, as long it's in the Metro. Need to find the root cause before undergoing detailing.

    You can actually detemine the source of the soggy problem yourself if you like. It just takes some time and patience.

    The usual culprit for wet floorboards is the compromised integrity of the plastic vapor/moisture barrier located immediately behind the door panel/s. In time, the adhesiveness of the factory installed butyl rubber double sided tapes that help seal out h²o may have gone kaput, resulting in the ingress of rain/ wash water .

    If that's the issue, the solution is to buy a box or 2 Of the said butyl double sided tape (aka katol) from your suking auto shop and replace the old sticky stuff w/c may have already hardened and flaky causing its ineffectivity in preventing water seepage.

    I'm sure there are diy vids on YouTube that can help you w/ the procedure on how to remove your car's door panels and such.

    i have seen cars, where the plastic sheet on the inner wall of the door, had been removed! even the butyl had been scraped away.
    "for aesthetic purposes", daw, according to the owners.

    When was the last time your you had your AC serviced? The drain outlet of the evaporator may already be clogged and the excess condense water is spilling in the cabin (evaporator is usually on the passenger-side, thats why the driver side is dry).

    The A/C I think was serviced way back 2024 if I remember it correctly, any refutable shop in mind?

    Puwede makita ito kung may water drip under sa may passenger side front suspension kung naka on AC.

    Makakapa din sa dashboard under glove box area kung moist. Puwede din mag latag ng newspaper sa front passenger floor for drip or wet detection.

    I think there is no water in the door panel, I don't hear no sloshing sound in either rear doors.

    Water doesn't have to accumulate inside your door shell for it to enter your car. All it needs are tiny gaps to seep through your door panels as it goes down from the windows to the step sills.

    On a positive note, the absence of sloshing water in your doors mean the door drain holes aren't obstructed.

    Btw, if your m3 has a sunroof, it would be best to check if its drainage system is doing its job too. That could also be a probable source of your soggy headache.

    Yeah, there is sunroof which I haven't opened in ages, don't see any water seeping in the ceiling, also checked the hatch's tail gate the two drain tubes still appears to be okay, did not see any rust or leak. The fiber like cover of the trunk is dry especially around the tail lights, not sure why the carpet rug underneath the donut spare tire and tools is wet.

    Just opened the sunroof and voila there is stagnant water in the tray, any idea how to unclogged this using ordinary tools?
