it is said that the powertrain gearing isn't set up for fuel efficiency, but for sporty driving. the passenger space is big, though.. just think you are driving a larger car.. that should "justify" the higher fuel consumption.. heh heh.
and prepare 10K for the registration penalties and change of ownership fees..
yes... better kung car of someone you know who actually takes care of his car..!
but i also know friends of mine who don't take good care of their cars... just as i am sure there are total strangers out there who religiously maintain their cars.. (yeah.. and these last are the ones who don't want to sell their cars..)
and don't fail to remember the regular maintenance that car ownership will force you to spend on. even brand new cars need maintenance money.. what more for used, 13 year old cars?
of course you have a choice! say "NO!. i do not need a car right now.". mebbe next year..
i would suggest to verify first at the LTO if the records still exist and if the plate number has not yet been issued to another car. since it has not been registered for 5 years the LTO may have already discarded the records (happened to my FX, failed to register it for 2 years after Ondoy) and the plate number issued to a new car. sabagay 1999, either W or X yan di pa naman inabot ang letters W and X sa new plates so malamang ok pa ang plate number.
