    Mazdaspeed 6
    * 274-hp 2.3L DISI turbo engine
    * 6-speed manual transmission
    * Active Torque Split all-wheel drive
    * 18-inch alloy wheel
    * All-Wheel Drive

    tulo laway ko sa 6 na to...
    di na pala fwd to,ano kaya ilalaban ng camry at accord d2?
    same category na ba to ng subaru 4wd sedans?

    this isn't gonna be in the same category as the impreza WRX and LanEvo though. :D

    kasabayan niya siguro yung Legacy ng subaru...and the old galant VR-4.

    Mazdaspeed 6
    274 * 5500 HP
    280 * 3000 Peak torque (lb-ft)
    28,555 USD

    Legacy GT
    250 HP
    250 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm
    28,795 USD

    sa spec mukhang mas ok yung 6, pero kung ride characteristics, mas maganda siguro legacy gt. pero we'll never know, baka maganda din ang handling ng mazda..

    Mazdaspeed 6 versus Subaru Legacy GT spec B:

    http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=109487

    0-60mph
    Mazdaspeed 6 >> 6.1 secs
    Legacy GT >> 5.7 secs

    1/4 mile
    Mazdaspeed 6 >> 14.3 secs
    Legacy GT >> 14.1 secs

    Slalom
    Mazdaspeed 6 >> 68mph
    Legacy GT >> 67mph

    Skidpad
    Mazdaspeed 6 >> .86g
    Legacy GT >> .85g

    60-0mph Braking
    Mazdaspeed 6 >> 120 feet
    Legacy GT >> 130 feet

    Straight-line accelerations belongs to the Legacy GT with its abundant torque (thanks to its bigger engine) but handling belongs to the Mazdaspeed 6 with its lack of body roll during the slalom run. The overall winner was the Mazda btw.

    actually, the 6 has more torque than the the legacy GT...maybe the legacy is quicker because it's lighter and geared more aggressively?

    quite the sleeper...no ridiculous wings and hood scoops (not that they're bad things, ), just pure performance.

    who cares? they'll never bring those in. the local automotive industry dictates that we should be mulling over cheaped-out econoboxes.

    err...

    Honda Accord 3.0L V6, Toyota Camry 3.0L V6, Hyundai Sonata 3.3L V6, Nissan Cefiro 3.0L V6, Mazda6 2.3L

    all of these are priced between P1.3M-P1.8M and have enough horsepower for Philippine roads and to break the 200kph mark. the fastest of these (the Accord) will go to 100kph in around 7 secs and the slowest (the Mazda6) will do it under 9 secs.

    until mid-size sedans become the mainstream vehicle here, I don't see any reason why to pout on the absence of performance models (such as the Mazdaspeed 6).

    and oh - if you are still complaining about the performance of those above mentioned vehicles... any vehicle is virtually available here in the Philippines.. heck, a Carrera GT is even available here.

    its not just getting to 200kph, its how quick you get to 200kph+... Even an all motor 1.6L sedan can break 200kph with its speed limiters removed.

    a modified all motor 92 Sentra 1.6L can do 0-100kph in 8.8 seconds on street tires.

    Errr... precisely.

    How long would you suppose a 1.6L sedan (save for the SIR) to reach 200kph? Or how about its handling characteristics above 180kph? Whereas those midsize sedans can comfortably cruise all day at 200kph you'll be fighting hard to keep a standard 1.6L sedan on a straight line even at 180kph.

    Modified... 'nuff said.

    Plus, the point that I was driving at in posting that is that we are getting here in the Philippines a fair amount of car variety & options given the low annual new car sales that we have.
