Mazda CX-5 beats the 86 and BRZ as Japan's 2012 - 2013 Car of the Year

Well waddya know. Contrary to popular belief, the The Toyota 86, and its fraternal twin the Subaru BRZ, apparently is not the best car to come out from the land of the rising sun this year. Beating it by 45 votes is the all-new Mazda CX-5 which earned the coveted title of 2012 - 2013 Car of the Year Japan.

According to the Japan Car of the Year (JCOTY) committee, the 86 and BRZ did impress with its “thrilling rear-wheel-drive handling, high-revving boxer engine, and reasonable price. But it was the CX-5's “revolutionary SKYACTIV technology, great handling, and economical clean diesel engine” that impressed the jurors the most.

if only the cx-5 has front fascia as impressive as the cx-7 and fitted with sky-D, i think more cx-5s could be seen roaming metro manila's roads. anyway, skyactiv technology is really a game changer for mazda. Hope to see this technological marvel in every mazda car.

Mas gusto ko naman itsura ng CX5 kaysa CX7

Well... talaga naman konti parati Mazda sa kalye. Maybe kulang sa pag-market?

I would have preferred the front of the CX-7 but the rear of the CX-5 with the overall shape and form of the CX-9

Gusto ko lang yung TL ng Cx-5 :-) pero mukhang ok nga ung Skyactiv ng Mazda:-)

so sana this reduced price of Japan exports- cars would make an
improvement on Mazda's Sales numbers in the Philippines esp...
