Try baguio-aritao road via ambuklao dam maganda pa view jan but that route is not safe during rainy season keep safe..

diko pa nadaanan yung via kayapa. ang nadaanan ko na e buguias to baguio via kabayan (& ambuklao). ginagawa pa lang that time ng satrap construction yung stretch ng ambuklao to baguio. antalim ng mga bato men!

From experience, you have to choices:

Go down Baguio either by Kennon or Marcos Highway. Then proceed to Pangasinan and upon reaching the junction of Carmen and Rosales, turn LEFT and follow the road going to San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. Then continue on the Maharlika Highway onto Nueva Viscaya then Isabela. This is the most advisable route if you are to travel at night.

If you choose to travel while the sun is up, you can go to Pacdal circle then take the route going to ambuklao dam. Then follow the road leading to Kayapa. Along that road you will find a fork that says Bambang and Aritao. Take the road going to Aritao since majority of the road going to Bambang is suited for 4x4 vehicles (regretted it awfully). Then upon reaching Aritao town proper, follow the road to the Maharlika Highway (Petron Aritao should be on your left). Then turn left and proceed to Isabela.

The Ambukalao-Kayapa road is a shorter route going to Isabela. However, as most of our fellow forumers have advised, it is not advisable to pass there after sundown as there are no streetlights, no gas stations, and no mobile signal for the most part of the trip. However, if you want to experience baguio before commercialization set in (pine tree scent, unending greenery and cool mountain air with just road dust and no vehicle smog), then this is the way to go.

Try baguio- buntoc-tabuk road afaik this route is the shortest but not the safest bka mahirapan na avanza mu dto..nono

Baguio-Aritao road would save you time. Huwag ka nang bumaba ng Pangasinan, ang layo ng ikot nun.

Did that route once already using my diesel Revo, lightly loaded and it's quite a challenge. It's half the distance compared to the Binalonan route but twice the difficulty. Make sure you have excellent condition for your vehicle as it would feel like you're doing Kennon road three or four consecutive times up and down.

Massive stress on the engine, brakes, tires, transmission and chassis. I wouldn't do that road in a fully loaded Avanza. A diesel MPV at least for peace of mind. Rest every hour of travel and inspect all critical parts, coolant and brakes in particular

Maintain only 30-40kph to make sure you stay on the road. Any higher, you might miss a v-curve and... kerassshhh!!!

Why not try Halsema Highway, Banaue and so on. More scenic, shorter route than Pangasinan but longer than Aritao.

The trip to Sagada would take about six hours, to Banaue another 4 hours, maybe another 3 hours to main road level, passing thru what is probably the most dangerous road system in the Cordilleras. If you're into nail-biting driving experience, with loose rocks the size of a small chair rolling past you every now and then, occasional landslides when it rains,. U curves beside cliff faces, then this is your Nirvana.

basta marunong magtimpla ang driver sa uphill/downhill driving, kahit anung sasakyan hindi mahihirapan. right gearing and speed,,etc. atsaka relax lang. kelangan ng heavy duty na driver. hehe. naiakyat ko nga ang L3 na karga e 15 katao. may kabagalan pero kayang kaya sa tamang kalkulasyon ng kurbada. salamat sa maraming milya kong pagtahak sa halsema.

karaming magagarang sasakyan ang tumirik nung bakasyon netong nagdaang taon sa baguio. take note, baguio city pa lang iyon.
