Mga 1.5 hours from Pundaquit to Iba. 30 minutes later, there's another place where there's a nice island. Sta Cruz, I think. I wouldn't suggest going except in SUMMER though since the waves there can be pretty strong ... in both places, actually.

But the drive after Iba to Sta. Cruz, near the Pangasinan border is really nice ... parang europe.

Take NLEX paglagpas ng Dau Exit, may exit papuntang SCTEX. Siguradong di mo ma mi miss iyon kasi may mga signboard naman.

First time ko pumunta ng Zambales noong June 2.

    Hope this helps.

Pundaquit is in San Antonio, Zambales

Going there, take the NLEX. Tuloy-tuloy lang until you reach yung last toll gate which is DAU. Shortly, may exit na dun going to SCTEX then drive all the way to Olongapo/Subic.

Tapos labas ka ng TIPO (going towards Subic Bay), use this road para di ka na mapunta sa bayan as there will be traffic.

Then paglabas mo kabilang gate ng Subic, eto na yung mga sequence ng bayan na dadaanan mo...

SAN MARCELINO - CASTILLEJOS - SAN ANTONIO

May road sign naman sa junction ng San Antonio, going left papuntang bayan which is where Pundaquit is. Going right towards the direction of Iba/Santa Cruz.

Should you plan to go to Iba from here, just take this guide:

SAN ANTONIO - SAN NARCISO - SAN FELIPE - CABANGAN - BOTOLAN - IBA

Smooth naman ang road surface with the occassional winding road especially pagpasok ng Botolan.

    Enjoy your trip, HTH!

pundakit to iba is around 60km.

i always stay at crystal beach san narciso, i bring my board and bike, set up my hammock at one of the sheds, plop down and read a good novel. i surf if there's a wave, i bike if none. i love roadbiking from subic to iba, roads are very nice plus the scenery is great. i just have to watch out for speeding buses

    direction, using sctex
straight nlex, after dau exit, sctex is on the right side
just follow signs going to subic. once you enter subic just go straight, after you pass the tunnel you will come to a major intersection, turn right, you will pass by petron and subic yatch club.

stay on the left lane on this road, after subic yatch club make left at stoplight, then take the first street to the right (canal road). this will lead straight to the gate exiting to zambales. after the gate, there's a bridge then take left.

just follow the main road, it's approx 30km til the intersection going to san antonio (pundakit). you'll see a left turn sign to san antonio. if you go straight, this leads to san narciso and further up is iba

when you reach town of san antonio (you'll know when you get there when the two lane highway is separated by an island), make a left at the tricycle file, just make sure you dont enter a one way street, this is where it gets tricky, after making a left, turn right at a busy road. you will see an arc/boundary sign (similar to when you enter a barrio), you have to turn left at the next sign farther down the first one, there's a left just before the second arc/boundary sign, you will see a signage to pundakit

    have a safe trip

sayang di ko nabasa... sa uulitin nalang

ganda ng experience namin... cruising nlex and sctex was a blast...
nga lang medyo apprehensive yung tito ko humataw kasi baka me mang huli sa sctex... pero kung wala ang sarap ng ride... sa subic naman talagang magpapakatino ka... saw a couple of drivers that got tickets because they did not follow the full stop law...

for sure babalik ako ulit dun... will also consider other places like iba next time...

    good morning
