Measured my thread using a 5 piso coin then measured it on a ruler and the reading is 5mm.

When people use the term 'threadlife/threadwear percentage', how much would 5mm be as a %?

For example, I know brand new tires are give/take 8mm in thread depth, so 8mm would be 100% threadlife, what would 5mm be? (Roughly).

Based on 8mm as 100%, 5mm=62.5%

I saw a few sellers ng used stock tires sa Facebook.

Question, how do they measure the tire tread percentage?

brand new tires have 9mm depth.. so you can get the %.. say 6mm will be 66% more or less..

yun din naisip ko nung una... may specific depth ang new tires...

kaso kakahukay ko. pati motorcycles and SUV/off-road tires may % na nilalagay owners. saan galing yun?

1. tread depth. there are varying tread depths for various tyre types. they's in the innernet. but actually knowing and computing them...
2. estimated mileage numbers.
3. tanchameter! the best!

but the easy part of it all,
is that the prospective buyer probably has no idea of how it's done.

some of them use the KMs run.. computing it vs 50,000kms..

so kung naka 2000kms lang.. sabihin nila.. 96% thread..
