    hey everyone=)

i own a 2008 honda city vtec and i am relatively very new to the car thingie=) BUT i am very much interested in "tuning" or "pimpin" my car(hope that's not weird for a girl). i just have a few questions and i really really do hope some of you can help me out specially the ones who have experience in tuning citys and the like=)

    here are my Qs:

    1. i want to install 17 inch rims on my car but i don't know what the proper tire specs and offsets should be, will a 195/45 do it? ir will a 205/45 be better?
    2. will a 17 inch affect my ride in any way? a friend told me that a 16 inch rims would be better in terms of ummm the "tagtag" factor? but then idk a 17" pink color would be cool ROFL
    3. my friend also told me that i needed to buy new springs? since the stock springs won't be able to support the bigger rims and tires? he said something like a 1.5 inch drop or something? can someone please shed some light on this?
    4. oh and one more thing, when i'll change my springs would it also be recommendable to change coilovers? again, my friend suggested it to me

well um, hope my questions aren't too hard to answer

looking forward to your replies guys=) xoxo

Pimp my ride are expensive hobby. I would suggest you to do your homework very, very good. Make list everything that you need form wheel, tire, coilover suspension kit(Koni is my choice), anti-roll bar to increase lateral stiffness and body roll, upper strut bar, air intake system, Camber kit, NGK power cable(sparkplug cable) and a big brake(this is an option). From there add up everything how much will cost you and how easy to get all those parts, plus you have to look for a place that are expert of doing this not cutting corner or you will ruin everything.

Your car still brand new and of course you want all the best to be in that car so do not settle for less or you will not be happy owner of a honda city.

ummkayy ... =( so it's not advisable to put a 17 incher on a city?=( mmkayy ... and so i also don't need to lower my ride? gawd sorry, i'm just not good at cars i guess, any suggestions then? coz idk, a stock city looks like a big ol' balot to me. i really do want to lower it, but i don't wan't a ride that's as stiff as anything, and i do want a 17 incher but idk about the complications, like the tire rubbing off the fender and such. BUT i really really do want a 17 inch, can anyone who has 17 inchers on a city gimme some feedbacks pls?

haha i guess so mr. ghosthunter=)

was reading the forums it seems that a lowering spring (HnR) + a KYB gas shocks? would work well when lowering. idk maybe id just go for a 16 incher=( ... any suggestions on putting on a 17s? or do i really have to compromise the vanity for the ride quality?=P

H&R springs made for street use with KYB gas shocks would be fine. H&R makes another version of their springs which are stiffer and meant for track use.

17s are great if you would be displaying your car in a car show but on the road, something more practical would make it easier for you to drive. Even with 16s, you will have to be careful when coming across humps and potholes on the road.

help in tuning pls=)
