    Bro,

Dont bother buying them sprays, use old fashion shampoos na lang. They'll do the trick just fine.

Thanks mazingerZ, might as well stick with BigBerts shampoo then. Nakakatamad lang kasi since I have stock 9 spokes mags ng Honda City.

wheel cleaner? imho, they are just added expense.
just hose down your wheel, wash them with your hair shampoo solution and hose them off, wipe off with a dry cloth, and VIOLA.... it looks good.

wheel cleaner? this is the first time ive heard of such.

personally, i still go for the classical method of car shampoo, tire black, and wax.

Wheel cleaners have their usage especially if your wheels aren't painted.

Normal, OEM or clear coated wheels only need to be treated like paintwork.

Special wheel finishes would require wheel cleaners to safely neutralize brake dust from its surface to avoid pitting.

German vehicles are much more prone to brake dust.

they're far from "useless" or added expense.

agree. they are also far more effective than car or hair shampoo at removing caked in brake dust. try one and marvel at how much time and effort you have saved.

the best ones for me are the gel-based ones. not sure what brands are available in the RP market

When my wheels are very, very dirty, I use a good all purpose cleaner like Simple Green http://www.simplegreen.com/. Spray it on, leave for a couple of minutes, wipe off the grime and hose off. Very effective for me.

Regular cleaning, I just use car shampoo.

Try using those old baby bottle brushes. Some of them can bend at an angle for hard to reach areas.

So these spray-type wheel cleaners don't need physical rubbing of the wheel to remove the brake dust? Just an ignorant question folks Car shampoo needs some sort of implement (a sponge or brush, for instance) to really move the brake dust away from wheels, in my experience.

Doesn't matter what brand, important thing is you match the product to your wheel's finish type.

Type: yes... in our shop, we've cleaned really badly stained wheels, and with the right product, saves you hours of manual scrubbing...

    Thanks Theveed.

For powder-coated wheels, which type would you recommend? I would imagine these would require something different from the chrome-plated variety
