hi, im thinking of getting a bnew honda civic 1.8V A/T... but this only has 15"rims & tires. mas maganda sana if 16" or 17". would it be advisable that i ask honda to upgrade to 16" or 17" before i get the car? to just trade-in the 15" and pay for the difference? would getting the 16" or 17" rims & tires from the casa be mahal?

    or

should i get my upgrade from outside nalang? how much ang estimate if i get it from outside? and will there be a lot of people interested in trade-in / buying the old rims & tires?

also, will changing the rims void my warranty?

and, will changing rims / tire size affect odometer reading? does this have to be adjusted accordingly?

    thanks!!

Kung sila mismo ang magkakabit, hindi naman siguro mavo-void yung warranty. Kanila pa rin naman ang piyesa. Try asking.

If you have it done outside, your wheel/suspension warranty will become void.

As for odometer/trip meter/speedometer variance, as long as your new wheel+tire combination retains the same rolling diameter/circumference as the stock wheel+tire combo, the difference should be negligible.

Rather than buy the V spec (777k) and then upgrade the rim, why not buy the S spec (849k), since the S variant comes stock with 16-inch tires.

Tutal, kung sa dealer ka na din bibili ng rim and tires (so as not to void the warranty), halos ganun na din ang presyo. Sobra tumaga ang casa.

Galactus does have a point. The extra P72K will buy you safety equipment and other features, plus 16" rims. It's a more expensive option, but you do get the 16" rims and other stuff.

If you do want to pursue the cheaper alternative, get the V, and try to look out for 16" rims (and tires) traded in at some Evangelista shops. It might take a while to source them out, but then some people do make the trade. I don't think Honda will void your warranty since you're getting another OEM-sized rim, that you're going to be mounting on an OEM-sized tire.

If, however, you're getting a non-OEM rim, well, chances are Honda's gonna void your warranty. Unless... you keep your OEMs at home, and slap them on when you go for service/warranty claim.

    Sir tama kayo dyan...

When I asked how much yung rim ng 17" it is around P100K would you believe? pero cguro dahil if they change nandun pa din warranty...

If you're going for the V (its your choice, its your money and your budget so I will leave it to you sir) then I would go for the idea na bumili ka na lang sa labas but keep your old tires. Kapag preventive maintenance na just don't forget to swap the tires back to the stock :D

am looking at the automatic variant kase... 1.8V a/t (P832k -- P817k on the website) vs. 1.8S a/t (P899k -- P884k on the website). prices were based on pricelist i got from dealer. i think the prices here ins cebu are slightly higher due to freight/shipment costs. so if yung S series, its kinda off the budget na.

sige, will ask my sales agent kung ano options ko. thanks!

Suspension warranty sucks... almost everything under your car is considered a "wear" item... after about 20,000 kilometers, they can claim that any bearing, bushing or shock damage was caused by "road conditions".

If you're really worried about it... don't trade in your stock rims! Keep them in the garage for when you need to claim on the suspension warranty. Just buy a set of 17" ROTAs outside (they're about 25k now) and some really good tires... it'll cost half of what the casa will charge. And what tires come with 100k? If they're not good performance tires (and they usually aren't... just low profile regular tires), you're paying twice as much for the rims what they're worth, and over twice as much for the tires.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

ok, so maybe the casa upgrade will be out of the question then. kung ganun lang naman ka mahal, better pa i'd get the S variant and i get more safety features pa.

    thanks for the advise!!

Or you can wait for the new 2008 V variant next month na ata lalabas. Yung 2007 models until supplies last na lang kaso its P850K na ata for the A/T new V variant. Meron na ding ABS and the aux.

I really really recommend saving a few more and get the 1.8S instead. It has a whole lot of safety, convenience, and cosmetic features.

i can't afford the S anymore especially that honda just raised the prices coz wala na 2007 models left and 2008 na ang mga available. :-(
