Hi Guys dunno if this thread has already been posted.
Any hint if this model gonna land in the phil?. This could
be a good alternative for crv or rav4 cause it's much much

which is S$71k. (1S$=33php)This would be around 800php sa atin.
This model is quite popular here than other new midsized suv's cause
it's cheaper and quality/styling has improved much comparing to the
    old sportage model.

Bumabanat na ang Kia ngayon ah, Improving ang na designs nila. Before, I wouldnt want to own a Kia dahil parang walang dating. Pero ngayon I wouldnt mind owning one be it a sorento or sportage. Masmaganda siguro dalhin din ng Kia dito yung Spectra para kumpleto na sila talaga

Yup improving na ang Kia. I like the Sorento.

Just add a little sa 800K budget pwede nang base model na Sorento.

actually its brother is already here..the hyundai tucson (same engine etc)..and its at 1.180M? so i think that price tag of 800K would be a dream...unless they take out the 4x4, power features etc

Yeah you're absolutely korek brader 800k would be a dream palagay ko di
nga ito bababa sa 1M. Then who would buy if the tag is that high, people
    would be considering other brands.

Looks very nice. Yes they have a CRDI powered Sportage just like it's twin brother, the Hyundai Tucson.

check this link for CRDI specs : http://www.kiamotors.com/Common/html...tage/spec.html

The equivalent price tag of P800T is probably based on Singapore's low import tarrifs & duties since they compensate with an unrealistically high road-use tax.

Do you think it still has a Lotus-tuned suspension like the old Kia Sprotage of the late-90s?

kahit dito sa korea, wala kang mabibiling bagong sportage at that price (P800K). Puro diesel lang dito, walang gas variant na ibinibenta sa domestic market.

It was my mistake to assume that 800k would be the tag if ever kia phil.
will bring this model there. diff. country diff pricing nga pala. But it's possible
di ba see the case of the fortuner thats why haba ng pila kasi it's being priced
fairly. Dito naman ni minsan di pa ako nakakita ng fortuner inspite of their massive hyping kasi they prefer sedans, and comapct suv's large suv's are not really practical here since the road are well maintained & mostly flat. The cheapest car here are pickup & vans mostly they only use these vehicles for cargo purposes.

IMO why Singapore automotive prices are so high (highest in the world they say) it's because there's a limitation or a qouta they limit the ownership of vehicles because of a very limited space, imagine if the pricing would be the same as in neigbouring countries like malaysia, indonesia or phil. which the cost of a 1.5 vios say sa atin ay 658k then it should only be around S$20k here (actual price here is S$52k+COE) then almost everyone could afford to own one or two just imagine the mess on a traffic & parking space.

its been more than a week since i got my sportage... here are my initial experience on the new sportage... note that these are based on my preference and driving habits... read at your own risk hehehehe

ride - ever since I changed the tire pressure (initially at 39), I like the ride so far. for me, its more car-like than suv-like. after a very tiring day from work, i could say, my drive home is now more relaxed (i used to drive a Gen2 pajero na medyo matagtag)

handling - a bit on the heavy side. I prefer the heavy handling because it gives me a luxurious feel (kahit Kia!). Gives me a solid feel. But if you are the "racey" type, medyo pang-matanda nga dating nito. But ako, thats the way I like it, pero di pa ako matanda huh hehehe...

gas consumption/engine - medyo bitin lang sa power, medyo gigil. Probably the CRDI engine is better. Pero if you are the type na "relax" lang mag-drive, ok na ok na ito. But if you are looking for a fast car, this is not for you. On gas consumption, tantsa ko around 7-8km/liter, city driving. Havent tried sa freeway/highway.. Hopefully, after a few weeks of use mag-improve.

overall, ok na sya based on my driving habits, preference....test drive nyo to know if this is the car for you... its definitely what i like (given the P1M budget)...

    Have a nice day!

It shares a lot of its underpinnings with the Hyundai Tucson. Diesel is said to be a 2.0 unit while a V6 is also available.
