    Help naman please.

Would appreciate your opinions regarding the Isuzu MU 4x4 3.1L engine (availability of parts, maintenance, etc..)

My wife and I are thinking of buying a second hand car with a 300K budget and am interested in this one, as me nakita na ko. So far, tinesting namin and ok ride niya, mabilis ang arangkada, lamig aircon, maganda in general...

We're also considering a Honda Odyssey as it has also the same price range. Sa palagay niyo po, alin mas okay between the two?

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated...

    Thanks much.

Tebs used to have a MU. But he has since moved into a Suzuki Samurai.

I'm not a fan of converted vehicles. For the budget, nakakuha kami ng '95 Suzuki Vitara 5-door. Locally sold (casa) pero CBU from Japan (where all Vitaras come from). It's bigger than a 3-door MU and you don't have to worry about conversion.

Typical price ng Vitara is Php240k up. Most expensive I've seen is Php400k.

Pero in case na we decide sa Isuzu MU, ok naman kaya availability ng parts and ung maintenance? Same with Isuzu Trooper lang naman daw kasi ung engine and parts eh. Palagay niyo?

yung engine ng MU is 4JG2. Meron piyesa yan dito. Body parts sa likod mahirap. Ano ba nagustuhan mo sa MU bro? We might be able to give you some options.

If you are decided already. Then it would not matter whether parts or services exists for such a unit. hehehe.

The MU is a close relative of the Isuzu Pick up (not sure what vintage). It shares major bits from the front doors forward.

Nung tinest drive kasi namin, maganda hatak and mabilis talaga. any other options are welcome...

Also, me tanong lang ako regarding ung body parts sa likod, aling specific part ung medyo mahirap?

Sensya na daming tanong. Thanks ulit.

Almost everything from the doors back is not readily available including the glass, rear bumper, tailgate, interior trim. But I guess you can pretty much work your way around them if you really needed something.

Isuzu diesels are good. But so are the diesels from other manufacturers. Sometimes it will all boil down to maintenance.

mali siguro yung tanong ko. ano ba needs mo? (that's the right question some caveats sa converted units (i have an idea coz i had 2 units, a bighorn and a pajero): underchassis>> make sure orig gearbox and properly transferred yung g.b. Big chance the GB will leak within 1-2 years. To be honest with you I had to spend 60K sa BigHorn ko para ma feel ko na safe i byahe ng malayo (our roro with ungas and afrasay sa Panay Island). Sa 300K I'd buy me a pick up or even a W123, d ba otep? My 2 cents

for me, kung solo/single ka, try mo trooper 3-door, mas may space, ody, kung space hanap mo talaga, pero kung gusto mo masmaluwag, delica spacegear.

300K lang mga yan.w/ the ody being the only gas option and the 3-door trooper, ody and spacegear are the most expensive

Open up your options.

Local diesel Terrano, I think, is a better choice.

Ok naman ang W123 if you need a car. hehehe.

Vitara, Esteem wagon, local boxtype Pajero, Terrano (dagdag konti), etc. Out of the question ang sedans that time pero madami din available.

    Thanks for the input guys.

My wife and I really need all the help we can get. Lapit na kami bumili and i want to make sure na tama magiging decision namin on what would be a good buy. Talagang mahirap mga parts nito?

Anyways, any idea on where we can get an isuzu trooper 3 door? Also, di ba talaga sigurado ung mga converted?

Station wagon or pick up. Sa akin nothing beats a pick up kung utility at tibay. half car half truck.
