any idea when will this dmax model be available in the Philippines?
No word yet from tge local distrubutor. Another big question is if ever lalabsin dito, anong engine ikakabit nila? Yun present dmax natin sa ibang country naka vgs na pero dito hindi nilabas
hindi ba phased out na yung lumang dmax since thailand is already selling the new dmax?
imo, wala ng bibili ng lumang dmax... mas maganda ang labas ng mga ibang brand. isuzu needs to compete. they have no choice but to bring the new dmax to survive.
agree.. isuzu has a boring lineup compared to other brands but hey, look at the crosswind, after several facelifts and add-ons later, it is still selling well. bread and butter parin ng isuzu phil.hehe. iba talaga ang tatak ISUZU sa mga pinoy. pero di to nag-apply sa DMAX. I rarely see one with still a dealer's plate on it. there are simply better and newer alternatives out there. now, lets see how the 1.168m GLX montero will take hit on the XUVs and Sportivos.

The latest Colorado still share the DMax platform. Magkaiba lang amenities, powerplant and drivetrain.
Its challenging times for Isuzu.
Im sure lalabasin rin yun new dmax here but as to when.... Thats the question.
Plan to visit a chevy dealer tomorrow to check out the colorado, pinapacheck sa akin ng bro in law ko kasi. I just find it expensive, daming kulang kasi compared sa thai version kasi
I will, but mind you though both truck share the same platform i cant speak for the dmax coz im sure there are alot of differences between the two.
Hey guys... is it true that this model is coming by october? i heard it from someone(i know not reliable) who inquired in the IPC dealer but they(the dealer) don't know if the engine comes with the body.

Will 2012 be the last year for the 4JJ1-TC standard engine in the Philippine Dmax?

The 2013 Dmax almost looks like the chevy colorado...I'm just curious, what exactly does Dmax stand for and is the colorado's engine which is technically called "Duramax" related to it or was it patterned after the Dmax?
Just a quick note chief - Duramax was formed when General Motors and Isuzu Japan JV'd in United States. Duramax abbreviation is actually D-max.
All new diesel engines during the period of the JV were all designed by Isuzu including the 6.6-litre V8 used for the Hummer and some GM-Chevrolet vehicle in the US. As for the midsize pickups, up until the end of 2011, every Chevrolet diesels were co-shared with the same engine that goes with the Isuzu D-max. Name them, from the Chevrolet Colorado, to the Holden Colorado in Australia, and Chevrolet D-max in South America.
However, some of the engines that Isuzu designed that time are now under the rights of GM, even the industry-setting year 2001 Isuzu 6DE1 engine - it being the world's first closed-deck cylinder block made of die-cast aluminium. It is 3.0-litre V6 diesel commonrail direct fuel injection engine, 4-valve DOHC and equipped with VGT. This Euro 3-compliant engine, even at that time, was exported only to Europe, which was mainly used by Saab of Sweden, Renault of France and Opel of Germany.
While GM-Chevrolet kept the Duramax label even when the JV with Isuzu is already over, it however is now using the VM Motori Italia engines on its diesel midsize pickup and SUV line-ups.
Cheers!
Don't they just look the same like the Isuzu D-max sir, from the old and just so recently - year 2011
Chevrolet D-max (when we see that "Safeguard soap" emblem, we know that it's Chevrolet haha)
Holden Colorado (Holden is the Aussie Chevrolet)
Chevy likes to use the VCDi stamped on its diesel engines, but in all honesty and up until 2011, they were using the same Isuzu 4JJ1-TCX engine that is plugged into non-Philippine issue D-max the world over....
Cheers!
