    Sir,

    newbhie lang po, I just brought isuzu crosswind xuv 2002 automatic transmission, may tanong lang po kasi di me familiar regarding automatic transmission.
    eto po ang inquiries ko;

    1. san po ginagamit ang over drive? ano po ang purpose nito?
    2. regarding the D2 and Low paano din po gamitin?
    3. about the turbo what particular average of speed turbo goes on?

    Kindly help dahil first time ko lang gumamit ng automatic.

    salamat po ng marami God bless.

    1. Overdrive is fourth gear. Turn overdrive on when you're on the highway, to keep your cruising rpms low. You can turn it off when you need extra power to overtake, to force the transmission to select a lower gear. "Overdrive off" keeps the transmission from shifting into 4th gear, but allows it to select 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

    2. D2 locks the transmission out of 3rd gear. It allows it to only select 1st or 2nd. Low locks the transmission in 1st gear exclusively. Use D2 when going down moderate slopes and Low when going down steep slopes. This is safer than using brakes to control your speed, as riding the brakes going downhill can cause them to overheat and fail.

    3. The turbo activates based on engine speed, not road speed. Typically, it starts spooling up at around 1,400 rpm and hits full boost at around 2,000 rpm, but there's not that much boost. I wouldn't worry about it.

    And if you haven't yet, change your transmission fluid. It's safest to change it every 20,000 kilometers, especially on an old car.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    If you're climibing, it'll depend on the slope. For really steep ones, "Low" is required. For moderate ones, D2, for mild slopes, you can either use D with Overdrive on or off, depending on the speed you're travelling.

    keep it on always. it wouldnt damage anything. nasa accelator pedal lang po ang control ng downshift if mag overtake ka. masasanay ka na habang tumatagal. pag downhill, D2 or L, depende sa slope.

    Just keep overdrive on. Even in city driving you will need to shift to top gear. Turn off only as needed then turn on as soon as possible.

    Just select the gears as you would a manual car. When in doubt, leave od on and gear in d. Except when going downhill for prolonged periods, select the lowest possible gear to prevent cooking your brakes.
