I'm due for my next change oil for my Dmax and the warranty expired last month. My plan is to have the change oil outside the casa to save on expenses. Please furnish any answers on the following:
    a. Brand of oil (I've heard that fully syntetic oil can be up to 10000kms, is it true?

    b. brand of fuel filter and oil filter (is it advisable to still buy isuzu branded filters?)

    c. brand of air filter?

    d. reputable shop for change oil within QC area

    e. any other points that I might have overlooked or need to know

    Maraming salamat po

i have mine done at the friendly neighborhood gas station. they have a promo. last time, it cost me almost 2000 bucks, hecho derecho. mineral oil only and oil filter change (whatever they have; zic nga yata), every 5000 km.
yung air filter, pinapabugahan ko ng compressed air. basta hindi pa basa ng langis, at mukha pang disente, ok pa sakin yon. i know i know. bad practice and all that. kayo na po bahala kung anong air filter ang gusto nyo.

That's actually a good practice with the air filter ... as long as it's not torn and broken just spray with compressed air ...

accdg sa thread regarding filters e hindi...hanggang 3k or 5k tops lang ang bosch.....yung bosch na made in vietnam/malaysia ay cheaper than the vic equivalent.

switch to OE heavy duty filters gaya ng baldwin, fleetguard, donaldson, ............

reagrding air filter, oem specs is still the best for me (my truck)....balance between power and engine lifespan.

To be honest, economic advantage. Mas mura ng di hamak eh.

What i do is regualr oil change every 6 months using mineral oil.

Cleaner oil, happy engine at a fraction of the cost of 1 synthetic oil change.

well, according lang naman sa mga references na cinite regarding sa filtration tests e nasa lowly ranks ang vic and company. siguro, maraming ngang pleats pero yung pagkapino ng filtering material nya ay hindi "at par" with the heavy duty brands kumbaga.

    me no expert btw....

    ^ yes sir.

Actually mas napapasama pa nga kung hindi gaano nagagamit ang sasakyan. Mas nagdedeteriorate ang oil kaya mas dapat palitan w/n 6 months.

But if it reaches 5000 kms by the 4th month, should i change oil already and not wait for the 6th month, sir?

Same here ... every 5000 kms regardless of how many months ... heat degrades the additives in oil ... if vehicle is not used much there is no need to change oil every 6 months ... but if the vehicle is used in heavy traffic or idles a lot then you change every 6 months even if it's not 5000 kms yet ...

Yan din akala ko dati. I use Delo Gold. Mga Ph1,500 nagagastos ko for 7 liters.
Then I tried Zic X7 10w-30. Bought a 6 liter jug for Php1,500 plus Ph100 for shipping. Fully synthetic na yan.
So the economics doesnt apply to Zic hehehe. Go for Zic na lang.
