    hello isuzu owners!

i own an isuzu 4x4 pickup with a 4jb1 turbo engine. it has been noted that turbocharging minus the intercooler is a half-baked boost system for any internal combustion engine. i realize the added benefit of an intercooler system will greatly enhance the turbocharged engine.

is there anyone out there who has attempted (successfully if you will ) to install an intercooler system into this platform??? i would appreciate any insight, responses that would shed light on this query...

    many thanks!

the work of an intercooler is just to cool the air before it is fed to the engine.... cool air molecule is compact therefore mas marami air maipasok ang ma mix sa fuel creating a clean combustion and malakas din...
yup you could put an intercooler in the turbo system sa 4jb1 engine kc hi charge turbo yan but dapat imeasure muna ilan PSI boost it is creating... and put or install a size of the intercooler that would match the turbo.... hindi lang kc pwede mo lagyan ng basta2x ng intercooler....

been there done that. have the same engine in my pick-up. installed an intercooler before. Placed it in front of the condenser, fabricated custom tubings. Intercooler came from a toyota supra. Total cost for installation was 6k, 3k for the intercooler and 3k for the tubes. Stock 10.5psi maximum boost, after intercooling it 8psi. the only difference is that during noontime the power is like in the morning without the intercooler. but I took it off when i fixed my alternator, was too lazy to put it back in. intercooler and tubes just lying around somewhere. Maybe when I have time will put it back. It still can outrun frontiers, pajeros gen2, and some other gas sedans. but it cannot catch the new pick-ups so I guess stock na muna.

But I read in a forum that other mods besides the intercooler will give higher benefits. up to 145hp on still basically the stock motor.

    I might still use it

    stock has 100hp or 98.

you can get some intercoolers sa mga surplus shops, better get the one for the 4D56TDiC mas maganda position ng outlet/inlet tubes.
