now that I've got your attention...

hope you'll read-on, specially those who own a crosswind models 01 or later. Basta yung mga nagkaron ng problema about their radiators and exhaust manifold, whether xt, xl, xto, xuv or even sportivo.

may kontak kasi ako sa Japan. I emailed him if he can help me get in touch with Isuzu HQ in Japan to let them know about the prevalent problem of the isuzu crosswind released between 2001 and 2003. He called up isuzu japan and talked to a customer relations officer. I emailed him back and gave the details about my ride, but to build a stronger case, kailagan siguro yun iba pang owners should make a similar complaint or notice of defect. para hindi madismiss yung case na isolated defect lang.

Eto yung details na hiningi sakin :

    * Your name and contact (phone, email address)

    * Your vehicle details
    - Model
    - License No. (car ID)
(I gave them my body number, engine number, and conduction sticker)
    - Purchased date
    - Sales office you purchased the car
    - Sales person you purchased the car
    - Person you have been contacting for making complains
    (with emails or phone calls)
    - The detailed problems you have been facing with your car
    - similar problems seen in the Philippines

ang objective ko dito is to get Isuzu to recognize this as a massive and critical quality defect. Hopefully, magdeclare sila ng recall at mag prescribe sila ng permanent solution.

so fellow crosswinders ....what say you! :D
    email me lang thru rsnald*yahoo.com

Bosing, sabi mo 'released between 2001 and 2003'. Though meron ngang suggested remedy about this particular problem in the other thread, 'flexitube'. Do you think this is a merit for recall?

So now I'm beginning to worry in the years to come, baka pati yung problema ng iba about their radiator leaking e mangyari din sakin.

So email me your complaints related to the muffler and radiator issue. Bigay nyo yung details na enumerate ko. kung pwede, indicate nyo relative to what time and what mileage kung kelan nangyari yung sira.

Sabi nung kontak ko, wait for a reply within 2 weeks daw.

    SANA MAGKARON NG AKSYON!

    - still the problem with the crosswind is the exhaust.

    -August-September 2004...

Exhaust (already fixed under warranty, pero parang maingay na ulit)
Possible fan-belt (not sure if it's still within its service period)
Clutch, pero baka dahil maraming iba't-ibang drivers at puro traffic, but still to be checked up... details to follow.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Hi rsnald, PM kita for the details. I bought my XUV last October, 2002. Yesterday, my son called my attention to a leak on the top of the radiator and showed me the break in the exhaust manifold.

update ko lang 'to after one year.

to put it bluntly... WALANG NANGYARI! my contact in Japan (who's Japanese btw, not pinoy) offered to follow up my complaint, pero sabi ko, di bale na. Mukhang problemado din ata ang HQ ng Isuzu, at wala sila masyado pakialam sa isuzu crosswind since it's not their major source of income anyways. Diesel trucks pa rin sila. Sabi nga nung contact ko, Isuzu not well known in Japan as a manufacturer of passenger vehicles. besides, the 4JA1 engine is already almost 20 years old (1988 yata unang lumabas) and spare parts are being made in China. So walang pakinabang sa kanila.

kaya ngayon...kamote sa ranking ang isuzu crosswind, na overtake na sila ng mitsu adventure with toyota innova as the runaway and distant #1 in the AUV/small passenger van category.

kung di ka naman mahilig sa mga entertainment package add-ons ng sportivo..go for the xuv or xuvi. test drive both the xuv and sportivo to get a feel. walang pinagkaiba yan. better pa siguro yung xto/xto matic or even the xt :D... mas carlike yung acceleration. medyo maingay lang talga. or you may consider the innova g, a far better option (balimbing mode na ba hehehe) than the sportivo.

Forget the Sportivo... get the XT or XTO upgraded package. Smaller wheels and tires, so they ride a little better (matagtag pa rin...) and they go a little faster.

You could put in a resonator before the muffler (don't know where you can fit it) but I'm not sure how much that will help.

Most of the noise, kasi, is from the front, kung puwede mong lagyan ng extra insulation yung firewall (steel wall between front seat and engine compartment, that might help, but the rest of the engine noise comes through the engine supports (medyo stiff).
