The Bighorn/Trooper series has not been production for many years now. It seems Isuzu has discontinued it unlike the more iconic Landcruiser and Pajero series of Toyota and Mitsubishi, respectively.

Last production is 2003. It has since been superseded by the Isuzu Axiom and Ascender.

The supposed replacement here is the Alterra, though having a very good engine, needs a better shell to sell.

In other markets, the Alterra is called MU-7. The MU has also been called the Wizard.

To be honest, I do not like the nomeclature Isuzu has on its vehicles. Even if the model is global, they routinely interchange names.

Another case in point, The DMax pick-up is also known as the Rodeo in UK. But there is already a Rodeo SUV in US.

Mahihirapan talaga maka-recover and Isuzu kahit mag release sila ng new generation na Trooper because basang-basa and sirang-sira and pangalan ng Isuzu dahil sa Trooper......sirain ang engine, sobrang sensitive, then mayroon ding defect yung tranny ng Trooper.....basta bumibigay na lang....naka-experience na kami nito, spent around 300K for the tranny, dapat nga nag Nissan Patrol na lang kami.....hayz.....

yup trooper is cool even i, I like the trooper. pero yes, sobrang sira na nga ng pangalan ng isuzu dahil sa trooper na yan. when they will release a new trooper, people might raise eyebrows on it believing it is still the old freakin trooper :rofl: even if it had the platform and engine of the alterra (pero pareho yata ng platform ang alterra ang trup? but different engine not sure) it will take time for people to forget what happened. ikanga eh, mahirap makalimutan ang nakaraan, eh ikaw, nakalimutan mo na ba ex mo? parang ganun lang yun :rofl:

mayh point ka JJ. pero kung mentality mo matino di mo kaagad huhusgahan ang bagong trooper kung meron man. parang kinokumpara mo ang 1st gen starex sa grand starex. naka recover naman ang starex in its case.

uu.. pero hndi lahat ng tao may matinong mentality e. majority eh hndi ganun. in the case of starex, all new starex naman ang grand starex kaya mejo hndi nagduda ang mga tao sa hyundai. all new alterra nalang kamo

Give it a few more years, by that time matanda or RIP na ang mga naka experience ng trauma. My suggestion to Isuzu is design and create an engine then isabak nila sa Paris to where ever rallye until proven na, then put it on a trooper. Pajero, toureg image.

Trooper has been replaced by the Ascender since 2004 ata. alam nyo naman ang GM, nagtitipid sa production kaya same platform sila ng Trailblazer.



Hindi na lang nilabas ng Isuzu Philippines dito satin because that time, wala pang diesel variant for the said vehicle. 2007 model palang magkaroon (i think). And I think (just me) irerelease nila yung Alterra that time.
