Replace my '96 4JG2 Bighorn with '01 4JX1 Trooper?

1. Better interior- beige leather, wood panel, beige panels (dash, siding, pillars, ceiling, consoles, carpet, etc), 3rd row
2. Updated Exterior look- hood, fender,lights, grill, bumper
3. Dual aircon

Dagdag lang kasi ako mga 100k makakabili nako ng '01 Trooper. Eh kung bibilhin ko yung mga parts para ikabit, baka mas mahal pa abutin. Leather upholstery pa lang, alam ko mga 40k na.

Pinaka worried lang ako sa 4JX1 engine. Kung may record/history ng recall replacements from Casa safe na ba?

Another option (LAST RESORT) is to put my 4JG2 engine (A/T naman pareho) in the '02 Trooper body. Maski yung 4x4 transfer case pwede ko ilipat kung madali lang, kasi yung '01 Trooper 4x2 lang.

kung kumpyansa ka sa 4jg2 engine mo plus its 4x4 transfer case pwede munamang i-swap...

karaniwang problema ng 4jx1 are
--injectors(mga 60k ang isang set)
--rpcv( mga 12k)
--orps( mga 6k)
--tps(throttle positioning sensor, no idea of the price)
--fuel mixing in the coolant/radiator and oil mixing with coolant/radiator( kung wala pa problema ang cylinder head sleeve o-ring will do the trick mga 4k aabutin ; if may problem na ang head replace head mga 60k din or you can get the china around 30k)
--maselan ang 4jx1 sa engine oil use only 10w-30 besco oil(mga 2k per gallon will need 2gallons for every oil change 1k for the 2pcs oil filter)
--fc will be around 6-8km/l (city) 8-10km/l(highway)depending on your driving style

sa palagay ko yun lang naman ang mga critical about the 4jx1
trooper is a great vehicle in its own little way

No good, 4JX1 though maganda on paper is really a pain pag nag sira... A friend of mine bought 1 two years ago but eventually sold it due to the problems of that engine.. though she really loved her trooper..

Nakakatakot nga 4JX1. May mahal pa sa euro car ang maintenance.

Happy lang kasi ako talaga sa Trooper. Between Pajero and Trooper, mas comfortable ng sobra seating position (sa likod especially), at ride.

Option ko nalang talaga is swap engines then benta donor car, or bili ng ibang kotse.

You have a cheaper option. Buy a 99 isuzu trooper local model.
All you want in a 2000 and up model except the the 4jx1 engine, body cladding and the costly headache.
Four wheel drive on the fly, mga 2001 models 4x2 lang.
ABS, dual ac, no airbag no sakit ng ulo.
