Will this affect my airbag? TIA!

As long as the leather is at the wheel and not at the center portion, it should be fine.

Didn't want to start a new thread and this one's the closest topic I could find...

Anyways, any idea how to restore this? I think it's a fairly common problem with Mirage GLS that has the headunit steering wheel remote. The silver trim on the opposite side has no sign of wear though.

I see some silver spray paint at Ace but it looks like a shiny kind of silver and not flat silver. Any idea where I could find flat silver?

Or would it be better to just paint the thing black?

    Wrap it w/ 3M vinyl.
DIYable. Just unhook the batt & remove the wheel. It'll be easy. It's reversible & durable...

    It looks good.

Where can I buy it? And can it be bought in small quantities?

The entire silver thing is easy to unscrew and pull out actually.

3M 1080 automotive wrap is available in rolls & pricey. For your app, you can grab scraps of 3M's outdoor signage vinyl from ad & sticker shops. They'll be more than able to stand the abuse. You can dry or wet apply. This 1 looks easier done dry....use a blow dryer to heat on curves for easier stretching. Get more than you need for some practice. Good thing about 3M wraps, you can pull wrinkles & restick.
