Thinking of having my '18 City E's steering wheel wrapped in leather... most probably, will ask Seat Mate to do it.

no issue/damage sa current steering wheel ko... just want to have it wrapped in leather as its more comfortable to hold.

    what do you guys think?

car might be sold in 1-2 years... tyagain ko na lang ba? o have it wrapped and hopefully enjoy the car on its remaining years with us?

There are plenty who offer such service on FB Marketplace. We had one of our Innova 1GD's steering wheel and shift knob re-wrapped. Home service to boot.

    My opinion?

If you're going to sell it off lang naman in 1-2 years, sa akin, wag na.
Potential buyers might later think you're trying to conceal old damage/neglect dun sa steering wheel and lowball the asking price...

this is the only thing thats stopping me... together with the leather seats and LED headlights.

car only has 35K in the odo.

maiinis lang ako if a potential buyer starts lowballing us bec of the leather seat & steering wheel.

Worried about being low-balled because of the leather-wrapped steering wheel?

First of all, if you're going to sell it in a year or two, you'll undoubtedly already put some wear on that newly-wrapped steering wheel. It's not going to look like the wrap was recently put on just for the sake of the sale. It would exhibit evidence of use and wear after a year or two from the time it was installed. Second, document when the steering wheel was repaired... take pictures of the before and after, with the odo reading.

You're not hiding anything so don't be afraid. FWIW, it shows that you care enough about your vehicle to go as far as having the steering wheel wrapped.

It goes without saying that the wrap needs to be quality.... OEM-like or better.

i am a fan of stock steering wheel. mas madaling hawakin sakin kapag hindi makapal.
never had the urge to wrap the stock manibela.
    la lang.

    also,
a bare, urethane 'wheel is easier to clean than a wrapped one.

Depends on the original steering wheel. If it came factory-wrapped in leather, some tend to disintegrate after a few years, our older Innova 1GD for instance. In which case, re-wrapping entails removing the old leather and replacing it with a new one. It's not just 'patong', so the steering wheel girth will still be about the same as OEM.

If you're gonna sell it soon, just buy a steering wheel cover. But if it's not your thing, then have it re-wrapped and just take photos nga and keep the receipts. Though I doubt the SW will sway future buyers.

This. Your car, enjoy it. You are not holding it for the next buyer. And don't get those tacky steering wheel covers.

Last time, I asked Seatmate to use genuine leather. More than 5 years na pero looks good pa rin. Your choice really.

Just out of curiosity, how much does Seatmate typically charge for a steering wheel leather wrap?

Mura na. Better if Full grain leather sana ginagamit.

Yeah had my wife's innova leather wrapped yung steering wheel done din sa seatmate around 2017 maybe & it caost P1,8k I think then you gear shift parang P800 yata nun. Medyo makapal & feel mo yung circumfereence na difference.

A few years back, the leather of my Mazda 3 was starting to peel off. I didn't want to have to have it done sa seatmate coz ayoko ng makapal. I saw in Lazada a think leather that you have to saw yourself. Took maybe around 2 hours plus a lot of gas for the aircon kasi mainit hehe. Didn't notice the difference in circumference. Had it for 2 years or more I think & so far so good!
