"Grinding" sound sa starex

need your help po mga peeps...

a friend noticed a grinding sound in the engine compartment of his starex. it turns out its coming from the alternator bearing. pero sabi sa casa, the bearing (or bushing?) is not a service part and the whole alternator assembly needs to be replaced!

is there a shop that you can refer who sells this kind of bearing (or bushing) and can do this kind of repair?

Bnew na alternator na kunin mo coz if you open the pulley portion w/c contains the bearing tangal lahat ng parts. 6T lang naman bnew. it would be very difficult to find this part. Pero kung matiyaga yun mechanic mo he could get the bearing number then punta sa mga bearing/bushing specialist like yun sa araneta avenue, who selling bearing lang.

Si Ungas ang Philippine Representative ng SKF bearings diba? Baka naman alam niya.

Madali lang naman palitan ang bearing ng alternator ng Starex. Halos same din yan sa alternator ng 4d56. Ang mahirap lang ay ang pagdukot.

I think 6T is quite expensive...considering bearing lang naman ang malamang na problema.

Pede naman iDIY ang pagkalas and dismantling nyan di ba?

thank you. na-try namin tawagan pero ang mahal nga. 11K ang presyo. may alam ka pa bang ibang supplier?

medyo madugo magpalit nang bearing palagay ko kaya nga we were thinking of getting a replacement.

does anybody know the number of that electrical shop along tuazon (that stretch going to marikina)? balita ko meron daw doon pero "reconditioned". ok kaya yon?

Meron kaming bearings nyan, but it will save you time and effort to buy surplus alternator in Blumentritt area, nasa 1,500 lang. :D

Unfortunately wala akong contact number nung shop dun.

salamat. matangong ko lang, matibay at tatagal din kaya yung surplus?

matibay din basta pa test mo muna sa malapit na electrical shop papayag naman yan. minsan meron silang sariling pang testing.

nagpalit ako dati sa Gen1 Pajero ng alt for starex. 4,500 php brand new 110A sa blumentritt. Ang problema 1 yr palang nasira na yun IC. after 6mos. lumuwag yun pulley, wala kasing guide o kunya yun shaft. You have to really tighten the nut for the pulley.

surplus starex alternator forsale dito malapit paglabas lang ng village ask ko tommorow kung magkano. starex alternator din nilagay ko sa fx ko dati surplus sa evangelista ko nakuha. untill now gamit pa.

Swertihan ang tibay ng makukuhang surplus alternator, may gumagana ng matagal meron hindi.

Kahit nayung nagbebenta di nila masiguro yung itatagal ng surplus na binebenta nila. Mabenta ang stock alternator ng Starex kasi ito raw ang may pinakalamakas na amp rating, 110-115 amp compared to locally rebuilt units which are 65-85 amp only. Kaso malawak ang bracket ng Starex alternators, kailangan pa baguhin ang mounts which could cause misalignment if not properly done.
