Here are some pretty dodgy numbers I did some research on:

    Tucson 2.0L MT petrol: 140hp, 136ft-lb, 3425lb weight (24.46lb/hp, 25.18lb/ft-lb)
    Ford Escape 2.0L AT petrol: 130hp, 135ft-lb, 3152lb weight (24.25lb/hp, 23.35lb/ft-lb)
    RAV4 1.8L MT petrol: 126hp, 136ft-lb, 2882lb weight (22.87lb/hp, 21.19lb/ft-lb)

now i've *heard* that the Escape 2.0 is a tremendous gas guzzler due to being overly heavy. but the tucson weighs a hefty 300lb more!! that's like having two extra people in the car all the time!

oh, and i'm not comparing the Tucson 2.0L turbodiesel because with its price is almost identical to the RAV4. in my opinion, only the Tucson 2.0L petrol 4x2 is attractive due to the low price. the large price differential of the diesel isn't worth it, it would take 5+ years to recover the cost difference.

Well, if the Tucson in question is MT, it'll still use less gas. But I'm surprised it's so heavy... that's around 1556 kg! From the looks of it, I'd have assumed it was 1375 or 1400.... baka AWD version yun?

yung 1500+ kg ay AWD and diesel engine version...

siguro less 100kg kung 2WD. then a few more kg kung gasoline engine...

Oh... then definitely it would drink less gas than the 2.0 Escape AT or the CRV 2.0 AT or the Nissan X-Trail 2.0 AT... the list goes on and on...

gives 3240lbs for the 2.0L 2WD gasoline MT version. That's still 1470kg! I got the higher figure for weight from consumerguide, I think that's the US Tucson with the six airbags. Interestingly, on epinions the main complaint about the Tucson is its gas-guzzler ways compared to the CR-V, RAV4, and even the Escape! all of these other CUV's have higher EPA mileage.

Still, what's the going rate for mileage of the Escape 2.0 AT? I would expect the Tucson 2.0 AT would be worse..

parehong 2.0 A/T, USDM, the tucson is only 5 pounds heavier than the escape. mileage are very similar, both at 22 sa city, while the tucson has a little better mileage sa freeway, 27 and 25 respectively.

i own a 2wd tucson crdi which i brought home from korea. Hindi ko alam kung typo error lang pero all my documents like my import entry declaration and manufacturer's certificate clearly indicate that its net weight is 1,910 kgs, pero sa CR naman ay 1,250 kgs. Well anyway, mine is an MXL variant ( korea domestic model kasi ito). Back in korea, pag hindi ko hinahataw, meaning hindi ako lumalampas ng 110 kph, lumalalampas ako dun sa average mileage na 12.4km/liter , sometimes as high as 15km/lit. Pero dito sa atin dahil sa teribleng traffic (mix city and hifhway driving), the best i got so far is 10.2km/lit. pero hindi pa ako bumaba sa 9km/liter . Yung akin nga pala ay AT

Likely, yung 1910 kg na yan is for fully loaded weight, including fuel and passengers.

Good na rin ang 10 km/l mixed. That's what I average in the Crosswind.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Does anyone have fuel mileage figures for the Tucson?
