not really a sports car...just looks like a sports car..very good looking, if i had 1M lying around i'd buy it in a heartbeat.
I've seen one parking in shanghai last May. Takaw tingin mukhang sports car kasi napa wow nga ko seeing that its from Hyundai. Ganda exterior but I don't have any idea if the engine equally awesome.
Had the chance to drive the 1st gen of these babies (just like the one below) when I was still connected to an insurance firm. One of our agents (who happened to be my friend) had one. Despite it's not-so-good-looking exterior, the car ran like a dream. Dunno if my friend had his coupe modded but it has a...subtle low-level growl that can make you image that you are indeed inside a sports car.

3 variants:
Max. Torque (Nm/rpm)
1.6 DOHC - 143 / 4,500
2.0 DOHC - 181.4 / 4,500
2.7 V6 DOHC - 245.1 / 4,000
nung una kala ko euro car...wow mali..hhehe...
Only two variants here... the 2.0 M/T and 2.0 A/T... 138 hp. The M/T is (of course) quicker, with a 0-100kph of around 9 seconds. The A/T is more of a boulevard cruiser, but it has that great moonroof.
Not a bad car, good handling (especially since the 2.0 we get isn't as nose heavy as the V6 version), terrific looks, and more space than you'd think in the back. Unless you're going to Baguio, the back seat is comfortable enough... especially considering it's only a coupe. The car can hit 200kph+ on the highways, but it's a bit of a guzzler, especially considering it's only a 2.0.
I'd buy one if I had 900k pesos for a second car...

Would you guys choose this car over the new ford focus? Given that the estimated price of the ford focus is about the same as the hyundai coupe..
If you only drive by yourself or have a single passenger most of the time, then the Hyundai Coupe is a great buy!Originally Posted by trex
Handling was a bit ok... ditto for acceleration. The interior is also nicely done... though the materials used are just a notch below current Jap standards.
The tiburon looks good to me. Here's a picture of my friends car which I got to drive.lady driver btw. She just changed her wheels and added X-plod amps and 10"subs.
the interior is nice as well. Rear is good only for kids though.

sorry to say I must have erased the rest of the interior pictures
Ok naman siya pero yung current model na nasa pinas ay yung old model, may upgrade na padating raw.
hmmm looks nice, but what about the resale value and the quality of the car? I was told that since its a hyundai the quality is not good.. can i get your opinion on this?
The interior of the A/T FX Coupe version here has more color. It's done up in a tan leather that really looks italianate.
As for quality, it's not any worse than the middle tier japanese brands are now. Hyundai has come a long way... although it is nowhere near a Toyota for long term reliability, and will suffer a lot of depreciation just for the fact that it's a Hyundai.
On the other hand, seeing as it's a low volume model with good looks, I don't think it's going t be cheap secondhand anytime soon.

on top gear mag, they praised the coupe's styling and interior material quality..interior fit n finish was the only gripe they had..
I've also heard a lot of praises for this car since its facelift, but still..... because its a hyundai theres still a feeling of uncertainty in terms of reliability with in me.
I agree with niky that its nowhere near a toyota or any other japanese car for that matter. And even though it has 1 of the best warranty program here abroad it still has a long way to go to prove itself.
The verdict:
Style-wise....its 1 good looking sports coupe .Reliability and resale value however, is another story.![]()
I agree with your concerns. I myself was enamored by the looks of the Coupe that I plan to replace my wife's car with it. But after some of the hassles that I experienced with my Getz, I'm having second thoughts of buying it.
I hear some underchasis knocking noises in my getz. It took me several visits to the casa before they were able to pinpoint the cause. They found out that the transmission support needs to be replaced.Originally Posted by trex
Now I noticed that my fuel consumption increased. From an average of 13km/liter, its now down to 8+! I've already informed the casa about my problem and they've made some adjustments on the spark plug gap. I still have to check whether it solved the problem.
In fairness naman, the casa (Hyundai Makati) was very helpful. They were apologetic naman sa mga hassless that happened.
If only this coupe had a different badge, i think more people would buy it, ala Optra.
nice styling in a coupe but the Hyundai badge still means it has a bad resale, and dubious quality in pinoy minds.
