    Hi guys

I had my grand starex 1 thou kms check there last week and what they did was change oil and add a silicone oil sa clutch assembly ? According to the service advisor there magkaka ugong daw yung starex everytime i step on the gas pedal when accelerating.
Normal lang daw ito na uugong and lagyan ng silicone oil sa clutch assembly para ndi daw mabilis magoverheat and mas lalamig daw aircon
Ang catch lang ngayon ay may umuugong nga pag inaapak gas pedal and its a bit irritating considering na tahimik naman ang starex namin dati pag accelerate
Gusto ko lang kumuha ng inputs dito from other members na nag pa service dun sa pitstop recently ... Meron din nga isang customer dun na nakasabay ko na nagpa 5 thou pms naman and they put silicone oil sa assembly ng clutch too

Clutch assembly? Manual transmission ba starex mo? Afaik walang manual na vgt pag gray market starex. Nung nagpa 1k and 5k pms ako wala naman ginagalaw except change the oil and check fluids. Baka may bago silang ginagawa ngayon. Last time nag 5k pms ko this april lang.

Sir bratski, automatic yung starex ko. Pero a certain "noel" na service advisor nila told me that they are going to put a silicone oil sa clutch assembly fan ko daw. Dont know why they use that term kahit na automatic car ko. Sabi nya ang good effect daw ngeto ay lalamig aircon and ndi mag ooverheat pero ang cons lang ay may ugong daw pag inaapak gas pedal pero according to noel dont worry kasi normal lang daw yun and the ugong sound should go off in time
While waiting there i also witnessed na yan yung sabi ni noel sa ibang client na nagpapaservice kasunod ko so i guess ndi sila namimili ng customer na lolokohin
Nagtataka lang ako ay why they have to do it sa van ko kahit na 1000 kms palang. Iniisip ko nga e if may nagooverheat ba na starex na 1000 kms lang or baka kaya may nagreport sa kanila mg overheat na ibang starex and they try to prevent it now

I think they were referring to the clutch of your aircon compressor. It maybe if you bought your starex from them it is a KDM unit and the aircon was designed for cold climate not tropicalized for our climate here and that silicone oil will help it cope with the temp here.

Ic, mali intindi ko sa clutch assembly, meron ngang clutch assembly ang radiator fan natin, and its no way connected sa transmission. Ang purpose ng clutch assembly sa radiator fan is that pag malamig pa ang engine free wheeling lang siya and mas mabagal ikot nya compared sa rpm ng engine, pag uminit na makina natin sumasabay na siya sa rpm ng engine for more cooling power. Ang hindi ko lang maintindihan is why do they have to put in silicon oil eh kabago bago ng unit. Usually nag deteriorate lang yung oil thru age and high mileage. Ano pala tunog ng ugong? Parang sirang bearing ba?

Pero pag dating ko sa cashier and babayad na sabi ng babae yung 200 waiv na and will be charged to pitstop kasi daw under warranty pa
So lumalabas i paid 3800 php for my 1k pms and got a noisy acceleration! Tsk tsk sana nga totoo sabi ng pitstop na mawawala yung ugong in the long run
I guess veteran naman sila sa pag gawa ng starex so i think they know what they are doing pag pms

Yung akin thankfully wala pa naman tumutunog since i bought it sa pitstop. Thanks for the heads up

I guess madami na cguro nagreklamo sa kanila na on why their starex aircon is not
Cold kaya yun. Ginawa na nilang SOP

Yup, whether we like it or not,- direct drive ang fan ng ating radiator,- clutch fan ito,- kaya kailangang lagyan ng silicone. Pero, medyo maaga yata ang 1TKm.... Normally over time kailangang i-refill ito.....
