    help! i have a badly damaged engine so i have to replace it, i own a hyundai elantra 1995 1.6L 16 valve 4cyl. DOHC engine. engine no. G4CL (equal to mitsu 4G61 according to internet information). what engine should i use? can our local mitsu 4G63 fit my specs? if i cannot find a 4G61 or 4G63 engine what alternative should i look for? how about the connection, i know i have to replace/fabricate the engine support. but how about the transmission, axle (i have a 25 teeth connection) is the 4G63 same with 4G61(G4CL in elentra) is there other alternative engine(model) that i can use? please!please help! i need my car working as soon as possible.

    thank you very much!

    From what I know, the Mitsu engine would be a direct swap

    1.5L = 4G15

    1.6L = 4G92

    1.8L = 4G93

    All the above listed engine models are from Mitsu Lancers from 1992 - 2002.

    I think kasya din yung 1st gen 4G92 MIVEC. Pwedeng alternative yan.

    4G63T for power! But I recommend the 1st gen 4G63 DOHC. Swak yan. Dami pa pyesa.

    Based on further reading... best engine of choice is 4G63 2.0L to be swapped into Elantra. Downside, fuel consuption would probably increase a bit especially if you are in traffic often. But if you are traffic free, it can give the same fuel mileage as 1.6L engines.
