Need your opinion guys. My cousin is planning on getting one next month kulay nalang prob nya. he likes the blue one or the silver one. question ko lang is ..takaw swirl marks ba yung blue na color ? whats the safest color to maintain sa elantra ? btw baka pwede pm nyo rin po ako ng mga offers and freebies ng mga nakuha nyo from hyundai baka mas maganda at sulit yung mga offers nyo. thanks

safe color po is silver, white and clean blue...

as a general rule, light color is the easiest and safest to maintain. dark color e.g. black is the hardest. HTH.

Nice FC. Hope you could post also corresponding ave speed registered. I'd like to know the FC when you are ave 15 to 20KPH.

Naku di ko na narecord ave speed ko nung sa mga yan..hehe! as for my last fillup (yung 9.74km/L), I sort of remeber that it was maybe at 16-17 km/H as the average speed.

As for safe colors, I would agree that light colors are the easiest to maintain, except for white i believe.. Tingin ko lang kasi medyo visible agad ang dust / swirl marks sa white.hehe. But it really looks great and classy pag well maintained lagi.

Not sure of this, I think none because I don't see the "user setting" sa trip menu. As per manual it where you adjust your preference. Di ko pa na try itakbo with unlock doors then see if it will auto-lock once the car is at speed.

Alam ko wala. Pero try niyo icheck sa Hyundai GDS Kung may option sa ECU na speed sensing door lock at auto door unlock.

Got my Eli: Phantom Black from Hyundai E. Rod last week. Yesterday the car battery leaked after driving from La Union to Pasig. I noticed it after reaching our place but dont know where it started. While engine is on, battery is spilling out some liquid and smoke and i heard that its boiling inside. Has anyone experienced this? Im one of the few buyers read the whole thread from page 1-160 and didnt noticed anyone reporting it. I reported the issue yesterday and Hyundai E Rod towed my eli this morning. Do you think this is caused by any electrical fault or its just the battery. I also wanted to add, while on the road, battery on the dashboard or didnt show red. Hope to get some advice from Elantra owners out there. thanks...

Thanks for the response...humingi pala ako update kanina 4pm...monitor nga nila output ng Alternator while engine is running idle. Medyo nainis lang ako kasi ang ginagamit nila sa monitoring eh yung battery nagleak, sa pagkakaalam ko delikado yun kasi posible na sumabog...Wala sense if they are using the leaked battery while monitoring, dapat yung bago na gamitin.....again,thanks...

Just receive a call from Willet of Hyudai E Rodriguez Service Department assessment nila eh Alternator Overcharging pero 65% daw sila sure, callback nila ako later between 3-pm for update. And sabi niya na-inspect din nila kung may nagshort na electrical wiring ng buong kotse. Delikado naba electrical wiring ng buong sasakyan? Bigla ko naalala yung case sa youtube na nasunog yung buong sasakyan. Ang alam ko delikado pag nagleak ang battery kasi posible na nagshort sa loob nito, pag nashort sa loob nito buong electrical system ng unit eh posible din maapektuhan. After ng full report balak namin papalitan buong unit, exagerated ba actions namin?...please advise.

Based sa recommended na Breakin...driver should play between 2k and 4k RPM ... at sinunod ko naman yun para maingatan tsikot namin. Since informed naman ako regarding 1.8 whinning sound using the engine oil from Korea, pinigilan ko sarili for the NFS(Need for Speed). Balak ko ihataw pag napalitan na engine oil to recommended Fully Synthetic.

Tingin ko alternator problem yan. Possible na nagloko ang regulator kaya na overcharged ang battery, syempre kumulo ng husto ang electrolyte, nag crack ang plates at umawas ang liquid sa battery.
Hindi naman siguro kailangan palitan ang buong unit dahil lang dito. Wala naman reported electrical problem ang elantra sa internet here and abroad.

Thanks to this thread I have decided to get an Elantra 1.6 M/T. I was already set to get an Accent but was discouraged by the engine-knock issue. The only problem I have with my Big Boss right now is the color options, she likes the santorini blue but we were told that only silver and white are available for the M/T variant. I' am planning to delay my purchase a bit in hopes of Hyundai offering additional colors for the M/T variant, like with the new hazel nut brown color option for 1.8 GLS.

Hope I can get a great deal so I can have my Elantra before the 1st quarter ends
