I need help guys, I am planning to buy a luxury SUV next month and I'm still havn't decided yet what brand that I would purchase. I want something rugged and brutal and something that will surely turn chick's heads. My budget is 6-10 million and this is my first time and probably last on spending on a vihicle. My first choice is the Hummer H2, now recently this vihicle is on the news I think somebody used an RPG on this monster truck and it is still looks intact that gives me more reason to buy this vihicle, but my problem is that I can't locate the Hummer dealer in Manila. Is the Hummer dealer in Brgy Sto. Domingo in Q.C. still open? I'm trying to call them but the number is already not available if anyone can help that would be great. My second choice is the G-Class Merc and I want the AMG version now I don't know if the AMG version is available here in RP, the reason I want this vihicle is that the look is so timeless and only a few Pinoys has one. A suggestion from you car fanatics will be a big help thanx and God Bless!

hindi ako sure about Hummer Phil... but AFAIK they are now selling H3s here.

pero about the Mercedes-Benz AMG G-Class G55 (my dream vehicle!)... I think I can help you with that. AFAIK - any MB can be ordered through indent ordering. though it might not be cheap since the G500 is already retailing for around P6M. i know someone from CATS (the local MB, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge dealer) and I'll try to inquire if they can procure an AMG variant (haven't seen one here yet... though there's an SL55 roaming around town).

when i talked with the owner of Hummer Phils last year, he told me they're disposing their last unit of H1 pickup. so i guess they were stripped of the right to sell hummers here.

huwow thats some big money.. Gas and insurance bills will sure kill you with those types of cars nowadays..

But if you're really looking for those cars, there are a couple of H2s in Alabang Auto Exchange.. yun nga lang di direct dealership.. kita ko ata a week or two ago..

GM will service them even if they are gray units. H2's are basically Tahoes in a different costume.

Sorry, can't help with acquisition. But that rig is very available from local gray marketeers.

Sir AGENT DANTE!

Never buy a Hummer! My goodness... If your seeking for respect... the Hummer is no longer the answer! Ever heard of this movement? http://www.fuh2.com/ Every Hummer gets fingered "you know what I mean" also the driver. By all means... hehehe

If I were you, go for the G Wagon! Hell! Its the best looking utilitarian that doesnt need a stylist yet. With the G-Wagons interior... Chicks will not just turn their heads... Hahabolin ka pa! hehehe... Or better yet, if your into Luxury... Go to the Limousine of all 4x4's - the Range Rover.

Moreover, Jeremy Clarkson - defines the H2 as a Useless off roader with a Tiara!

Yep, even in the off-roading circles there isn't much love for the Hummer. hehehe. No offense to Hummer fans. Not that the vehicles are bad, it's just that they have become marketing cliche already.

G-wagons are cool. Timeless, too.

Ok. I'm stupid and didn't read throught the posts. I'm glad to see you ended up with a reasonably sensible vehicle.

Actually, Hummers really are that bad. They're one of the most uncomfortable rides I've ever had.

That's about as much the full name (Glass?) as "BMW M-Power 5-Series M5" is the full name of the BMW M5. Since AMG is an entirely different division, and there is only one model in the G-Class that comes from AMG, its full name really would be fast but ugly load of ****. Oh wait. Never mind.

The G-Glass. just kidding...
When you have the specific model name, I don't think you need to mention "G-class" anymore just like you don't need to call a BMW M5 a "BMW 5-series M5" because like the "5", the "G" gives out the model series name already which sounds redundant. "AMG" is usually placed at the end.
Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG.

I beleive the newer G55 is now powered by a 350kw(469hp) supercharged "Kompressor" 5.4 liter V8. 0-100 in 5.6 sec!

.... so AGENT_DANTE which luxury SUV did you buy?

Thanx for the comments it did help a lot, Im here in a cafe just unwinding after a long day of searching for a great SUV and finally I already made the purchase with the help of my friend from Top Gear Magazine we did roam the Metropolis and there's some good news and bad news. But before that let me share first how we started the day. Our first stop is the Range Rover showroom in Makati I really have a high expectations on Range Rover vihicles but sad to say they're not getting my nod today. First of all the Range Rover looks great on T.V. but once you look at it face to face it looks like an old Pajero the interior and space is great but I need something modern and definitely will turn hot babe's heads. So the sale's rep suggested the new Range Rover Sport and they have a super charged version available, the thing about this car is that it looks like the anorexic version of the big Range Rover there's not much space. The trunk is too small and the back sit only sits 2 persons, not really the best place to make love into. So we move to our next destination in Ortigas the Volvo showroom I wanna check out the XC90 the first thing I noticed is that the sales rep are all female that's great but I smell something fishy about it, the XC90 looks great and the price is the knock out punch here its very cheap for a european SUV. But the problem is once you get inside you will notice with the interior styling and just the sense of the design that it is designed for female buyers there's just no musculinity about this car its like havin' a gay moment once your inside. I looked around and it did make it clear that all of the design of Volvo cars are for female taste.

So we hit the road for our next destination like I said my first choice is the Hummer H2 and my friend hook me up with this guy that own's a second hand yellow H2, that time I thought that this is gonna be it the H2 looks fresh and just by standing around it already drawing some crowd. The guy is excellent sales talker he did mention the good points but once I asked about the spare parts and the fuel consumption, it turned ugly. The minute of great sales talk turned into begging, I just noticed that he really want this SUV out of his life and it just turned me off so I did use the famous filipino escape phrase of "Babalikan ko na lang" and it came really handy. Im dissapointed with the H2 if there's only a dealer here in RP I buy that car right away, so my friend from TGM decided that we should visit the Porsche showroom in EDSA we got there and I see some 911's, Cayman's and Boxer of course we're here for the Cayenne, like the Range Rover a lot of expectations from the Cayenne and like the Range Rover it only looks good on T.V. you gotta have a taste like Manny Pacquiao to buy this car and Im not saying that Manny have a bad taste it just something you will buy if you have an instant cash. The design is absolutely pointless that car will never be a vintage like the 911 cars it is just ugly. We move to the last stop and it is not that far the CATS showroom and I'm here for my baby, the G-class Merc AMG. Sad to say there's no G-class on display the sales rep from Merc just showed me the catalogue. The first thing I said to him is that I want the " G FEETY FIVE AMG Silver!" Im just trying to be gangsta just enjoying the moment. But a moment of enjoyment won't last there's a lot of problem owning one, since there's no demand on this car they have to buy it outside the country and there's a processing and reservation fee of 300,000. Second problem is the waiting time of 2 to 3 months, Im really worried that I might lose my craving for the G-class when the time of delivery took place, it is just too long. The third problem is same as the problem on the H2 Hummer, the spare parts would have to buy outside the country and yes the biggest problem is the budget I told you guys my budget is 6-10 million and the price tag of the G-55 AMG with its V8 Super Charged engine is actually almost 12 million, options included. Now in that price range you can buy a Maserati GranSport or the V12 Audi A8 Transporter 2 car, I realize that Im really not desperate for this car. So I looked around and I saw the M-class, not that musculine but its modern and the silver looks great not really gonna turn chick's heads but I can put some loud stereos in it to make them turn their heads. After all I need a car that will transport me from Manila to my farm in the North and I don't need to spend that big money on car that is really great only in dreams.
