Hi guys question ko lang. kasi my fiancee bought a 2nd hand FD. pero nung nagbayaran na sabi nung may ari 1 lang daw ang susi. nawawala daw yung spare keys. ang worry ko lang is yung security. since pwedeng meron may hawak nung spare keys so pwedeng mabuksan yung kotse or worse makuha. nabanggit nung dad nya na pwede daw i pa reset sa honda? ask ko kung ano yung pinapareset and how much does it cost? also may ganun ba talaga?

Pwede ipa-reprogram sa honda, but it will cost you. Alam ko nasa 5k+ ang pagprogram ng bagong key to fit your immobilizer/alarm system, so I'd suppose nasa ganiyan din ang price to have it reprogrammed so that the old key won't work.

***However, the old key can still be used to manually open the door & trunk, so if security talaga yung habol mo, better have the locks changed as well and get new keys nalang (IF THIS IS POSSIBLE?).

pwede nga ipareprogram yan sa honda. they will give you new set of keys for your security. delikado nga un kung nawawala ung spare keys nyan. kasi ako i asked honda before nung may FD ako for another spare key bukod pa dun sa duplicate, bale 3rd key na nun un. tig-isa kasi kami ng dad ko and then para lang may nakatago kami spare sa house. kaso ang sabi e around 3k-5k ang spare key para mag-fit nga dun sa system ng car. and i think kung papapalit ka nga ng set of new keys e need nila dalhin sa plant ung unit mo para palitan ung system. un ang sabi sakin noon.

+1 dito. the duplicate key alone will set you back 3-4k. If you want peace of mind and security, you need the locks replaced as well. Anyone na nakapag inquire na how much it will cost to replace the locks on an FD?

Duplicate key without keyless entry = 2-3K + programming fee (500php)
Duplicate key with keyless = 7-8K + programming fee
    Sa Honda Spa yan...
