July 27th, 2010 02:41 PM #1tanong ko lang kung bakit kaya ambilis mangitim ("darken") nung oil ng '96 LXi ko just had it changed sa Honda Shaw (casa) last May and nasa 2,500kms pa lang tinatakbo ko since then.
just last month, medyo brownish pa kulay nya pero pag-check ko last weekend, maitim na. normal ba yun for Honda (OEM) engine oil?

hondas generally don't make the oil black.
brown pa tas amoy gasolina (means you're overfueling a bit... try to adjust the idle speed).
gold and your oil is still good.
black means the oil could be oxidising too fast or your air filter needs replacing.

You can't tell the condition of the oil from just the color. You'd need to have your oil professionally analyzed for that.
Hybrid is the way to go. So you don't rely heavily on the batteries.
