Smell stinky upon opening the aircon

i've got a new fd and nababasa ko sa thread dto na upon opening ng aircon prang may stinky smell daw and sbi ko impossible cgro un den after 2 months naamoy ko na rin, is this normal sa fd natin?

This practice works.

May moisture kasing naiiwanan kung sabay na off ang compressor and fan. Ito iyong nangangamoy when you turn on the aircon...

So, turning off the compressor first while leaving the fan on, will minimize moisture accumulation and its resulting smell....

The problem is the A/C cabin filter. After several weeks or months of use, it accumulates enough moisture to be a breeding ground for bacteria.

I solved my problem by replacing the filter with an aftermarket one called CaireFresh (http://www.cairefresh.com/automotive.htm). The filter media is treated with a chemical to prevent bacterial growth. I bought it from a forumer at TeamFD for 2k. It's still cheaper than the OEM, minus the smell.

ganyan din ang auto ko..so fan muna ako bago a/c ngaun wala na kung masangsang na amoy.....

Initially ganun din FD ko a few months after purchased pero ngayon wala na... Wala naman akong ginawang special...

The fan-first method works on both of our FDs.

had have the same problem. on/off ang amoy. napansin ko buong summer yata wala pero pag pasok ng ulan bumalik na naman. i have a dehumidifier sa likod. will try the fan first technique tomorrow. hope this will work. mine is a jazz 2006 m/t. tnx

p.s. hindi pa nase-servisan ang acu since i bought the car.

Hi, have the aircon serviced. It looks like the aircon needs cleaning. I also encountered that before, hindi ko pinansin initially, hanggang lumalala ang amoy. Kailangan lang pala lagyan ng sealant and ipalinis. Then the problem went away.
