Hihg fuel consumption for Honda civic lxi 97 AT

Dear Masters,

I would like to seek some help on my Honda AT civic lxi 97 regarding high fuel consumption. just to give you a history on my recent acquired car, kapapalit ko lang nang bagong transmission wich was replaced in Banawe(Mega motion) due to worn-out transmission na talaga. i expect that after that repair my fuel consumption will go down (current consumption is only 4 km/L) but after that repair still ganon pa din ang consumption. I was referred to this mechanic and what he did is he cleans the throttle valve, replaced spark plugs and repair the idling. after that i also went to antoher auto repair shop and they adjust the timing and replaced the fuel filter. also after that i made change oil. Ok na Ok nman ang takbo. maganda tunog ng makina at wala naman ako naamoy na kakaiba but yet ang fuel consumption was just improved by only 1 km/L(now at 5 or 6km/L). Ganito ba talaga ang consumption ng mga 2nd hand unit ng Honda civic lxi?
Can you give me some tips what should i do now?..Ano pa ba ang dapat ko ipa-check?.lumalaki na kasi ang gastos ko and yet ganun pa din fuel consumption. Thank you guys!

baka naman sir over used na car mo. sa akin 97 vti AT 7-8 city driving (novaliches-tayuman daily drive) 11 sa highway.regular na maintenance lang naman ginagawa ko.

might be your driving style as well. long trips or short trips ba ang mga byahe? check the tire pressure, mag tanggal din ng mga unecessary things na nagpapabigat. I used to have a sealed box for my 12" sub, nag average ako ng 11km/l. nung tinanggal ko nasa 12km/l na ako on my manual 98 lxi. hindi naman siguro lalayo dapat diyan sobra yung matic. mix city and highway driving yung akin. though walang traffic kasi tanghali and hating gabi ang byahe ko. ehehehe

Got my honda civic lxi 98 AT top overhauled, and my fuel consumption now is 9-10km/liter city drive. Before, nung may tagas ang cylinder head gasket, grabe, sumusuka ng gasolina! (4/5km per ltr.)!

Thank you sir sa comment. anyway i maintain tire pressure around 30 psi at the same time wala naman unnecessary things sa loob pero ganun pa din fuel consumption ko..lately nagpalinis ako ng throttle valve..ang sabi ng mekaniko saken try to observe muna, kapag ganun p din consumtion then sa injector na daw ang problma...tama ba yun?...ano ba gagawin para malaman kung sira yung injector?..thank you!

Sir alchemist0725, how much ginastos mo for top overhauling?.salamat sa info..baka yun din ang problema ko siguro yung cylinder head...

Mga bos pahelp naman, yung 97 civic lxi matic ko kase ng overheat nung minsan tapos tumigil sa daan, na drain yung tubig. tpos ng sa mekaniko ang problema pala yung sa thermostat tpos parang may konting konti tama sa cylinder ata pero pwedi panaman daw.. ang ginawa rekta nalang rad fan pag on ng engine on dn agad fan.. tapos im running it ng walang thermostat.. tanong ko lang if hindi ba tataas fuel consumption ko dito nyan? .. salamat
