Honda SIR [merged threads]

fellow tsikoters,

ako po ay walang alam sa honda pero i'm gusto ko magkaroon ng SIR (ganda ng mga naririnig ko about it and OK ang itsura). Paano ko ba malalaman na totoong SIR yun at hindi ibang civic na minodify lang?

Infos naman po about the car (stock):
1. specs
2. performance
3. gas consumption
4. etc

As much as possible gusto ko yung stock and mostly ang mga nakikita na for sale is year 98-00, ano ba yung reasonable price na pwede ko iconsider para bilhin yung unit (stock po).

reasonable price is 450-460k.

engine is B16a good for around 160hp. exterior details include no chrome moldings, power antenna, larger exhaust tip than LXi and VTi, 15" wheels, rear disc brakes, mesh grill, power antenna, body color door molds.

gas consumption should be around 8-9 km/liter (?) depending on driving style.

this is what i know from the civic SIR

chassis code is EK4, model SIR

released in the philippines somewhere in between 1999 / 2000

a genuine SIR has the following body color:
Passion Orange, Night Hawk Black , Championship White
& Sunburst Yellow (eto ba ung kulay ng kay chieffy)

Distinguishing features from same generation civics:

Mesh Type Grille
15 inch enkei alloy wheels
4-Wheel Disc Brakes
Black window mouldings like the lxi variant
SIR emblem ; DOHC VTEC sticker

--hindi ko masyado alam difference sa interior..pa add na lang po

B16A DOHC VTEC engine

about the gas consumption, some friends who drive an sir said that the B16A engine even if driven hard still returns a decent fuel mileage. lets say 8-9 km/l?

guys, i think its best if you tell him what to look for under the hood. either a riveted plate from Hond Phil or identifying charcteristics of the DOHC engine.

he might end up buying a SiR kuno na VTi lang pala with all the exterior enhancements.

i would volunteer info, but i'm not too familiar with the SiR. all i know it is DOHC and puts out more HP than the other honda's of those years.

oo nga decent na nga yung 8-9, lalo na compared sa dati kong ride (revo na gas).

regarding the color, meron kasi ako nakita na formula red and isang parang chocolate na may halong avocado (hehehe), ibig sabihin mga repaint na lang yun?

stock paint din yung formula red...sabay ata ng sunburst yellow yun (2000) not sure if interior same din though.

saw chieffy's, additional audio... stock na daw yung tweeter nya located at side mirror panel.
plus silver yung ibang parts ng console.

may mga lumabas na additional colors para sa SIR late 2000/ early 2001. that would be the formula red and the sunburst yellow. pa-add na lang kung meron pa kong nakalimutan.

best place to look if the SIR is genuine is under the hood. black valve cover with DOHC VTEC writings. note: the VTEC must be bigger than the DOHC letters.

kalimutan ko na ung engine code at chassis code ng philippine-made SIR. post ko na lang dito kung maalala ko.

pero pwede rin kasi palitan yung valve cover eh. hanapin mo nalang yung stamp ng engine code sa engine bay, B16 dapat nakatatak. :D

if it is a VTI model with originally an sohc engine, swapping the valve-covers with a dohc would be impossible, unless the owner had a dohc engine swap.

b16 ang general term sa 1600 dohc vtec honda engines, eto ngapala ung local stamp sa block ng SIR: example: P6DF1; ung "P" ibig sabihin philippine assembly plant. kapag nakita mong B16** ung nakastamp sa block, hindi na original yan.

alam ko ung engine PH16 parin hindi b16a. cuz ung jap version lng ung b16a un code. d ako sure ah, ask nlg ung mga Sir owners.

yung sir ko has black mold side skirts tapos yung rpm nya is up to 9000 has front rear disc brakes oks na oks ang sir collectors item kuno
