Help need your suggestion planning to buy esi 95 matic.. is it a good choice?

Hi good morning guys and to all tsikoters.. just recently joined the forum.. I would like to ask for your suggestion im planning to buy honda 95 esi "a/t" this week this would be my first car. Ok pa ba tong model na to? or any problem or issue aside from the kalawangin daw po ang bubong? about sa makina?.. any honda esi 95 at owner there please share your experience or feedback.

Reason why i choose this car:
1.Fits my budget at 150 to 160k
2.Stylish ganda set up pan . pag nagkaron ng extra money(Yun po ung nakikita Ko..:D)
3.Fits my age pang teenager and can not afford ung higher model.


PS. Is this a good choice or should i look for other brand or model of a car?

There are some prblems with esi models like kalawag sa bubong, mahirap magrestart after using, radiator leaks, trailing arm bushings and timing belt. although depende din sa pag maintain ng owner. have a mechanic inspect the car before pulling the trigger

wahhh.. Mukang marami pala problem sa esi kala ko kasi kalawang lang yung usual problem niya..thanks sir jaymd for the reply.. Sana may mag reply pa i need your suggestion guys..

what po kaya mganda model?.. or other option car... Accord po b maganda? thanks

Welcome to tsikot.

The Honda esi is a good car, although it been almost 16 years since it first rolled out of it's assembly lines here in the Philippines. You just have to be extra careful in choosing when scouting around for your unit. Bring a trusted mechanic for the engine, suspension and performance of the vehicle. If you can also ask a friend who knows to spot if the car has repainted panels, ask the owner for the repair history. Check also if the papers are in order before purchasing.

The Honda Accord that fits your budget would be around 94 to 95 models, it's more spacious and the comfort (no problem) in riding and driving. Depends what your taste in cars would be in considering between the 2 Honda cars.

As for the other choices: I would suggest a very well maintained Corolla big body 93 to 96 models, parts would not be an issue here plus it's looks still a winner with the proper kits. Good luck.

Siguro Toyota Corolla big body na lang ang bilhin mo. Meron naman yan nagrrange ng 150-160k. Kung wala naman meron din yung toyota corolla mga 93 model.

currently ESi A/T po auto ko...the only problem i hd is the rust sa bubong other than that wala na ako maalala. Regarding sa kalawang sa bubong i think may solution na though i hvnt tried it kci ok pa naman after noon unang repair(hindi ko pa kilala ung bagong latero)...they will cut ung top portion ng roof then papalitan ng G.I. if im not mistaken. sbi ng latero ko so far naman daw wala pang bumabalik na complaint.

Prefer ko po sana honda kasi mas maganda daw quality pero mukang esi is not a good choice like you said mas ok pa siguro corolla big body tingin ko bka mag scout pa ko.. Gusto ko kasi sa honda esi stylish talaga..

Need more feedback please enlighten me..hehehe:D

Hi Jamie,

I have a toyota corolla big body, but it's not for sale though. hehe. For me, it's a car that's so reliable at all times just make sure that it's well maintained. Toyota also is a good vehicle. Here are the pics of my big body, just sharing.

No. XL lang yan hehe. Kaya nga umaabot ng 11-12km/l ang city driving niyan eh. I just placed some mags of the GLI variant. 1.3 ang XL variant, kaya tipid

Magmanual tranny ka na lang. Kasi mahirap na bumili ng 2nd hand car with AT tranny lalo na at 90's ba bibilhin mo. Baka sirain na yan or what. Alam ko na traffic sa MM pero baka bigyan ka pa ng problema ng AT tranny ng mga 90's car. Kung gusto mo naman na AT tranny, ask the owner kung CASA maintained and kung ok pa yung pagshift ng tranny niya sa D or sa R o kung saan man. Lalo na pagcold start :blue:

+1. go for the manual tranny. A/T malakas sa gaso. Toyota corolla vs. Honda Civic Esi. Each has its pros and cons. Kun ako Civic pa din e.

Kung porma ang hanap mo, I admit....maporma ang ESi lalo na pagpinalagyan mo ng mods na babagay. If you want space....get the toyota. Sakin kasya ang 4 people sa likod, nakakasandal pa.

95 Esi ok yan autong yan kaso nga lang second kaya di mo alam kung ano nakatagong sira ... manual mas madali i maintain ....

Check papres if clean and complete at hindi ENCUMBERED
Bring a trusted mechanic (cannot bypass if you're mechanically challenged)

I have also a honda civic esi matic din....ang problem nya talaga minsan wala naman problema pero pag mainit ang panahon at nagpark ka lang, mahirapan ka na mag start ng engine..panay dasal ko pag na encounter ko yon na sana umandar....tapos dalhin mo sa mechanic wala makita na problem....pag nagpagas nga ako ayaw ko na patayin kasi minsan dun nagloloko...pero other than that, wala akong ibang na encounter na problem ng esi...except ngayon na binaha ang car di ko na alam what to do kasi wala kasama guy sa house...although it's been checked twice di pa rin umaandar...

By the way, anybody there who knows a good mechanic na kabisado ang honda esi? kasi nabaha yung honda ko eh, di ko naman afford ang casa. Sana meron kayong ma-refer na magaling na mechanic at honest din...salamat...
