    mga sir,

went to baguio last weekend in my civic vti 96 AT, ok naman po ang hill climb until i reached the part in marcos highway where the climb was so long and my car couldn't keep up, i was only doing 20-25kmh, 2-3k rpm na nasa gear "2", todo apak nadin po ako sa gas pedal.

Is this your first AT car sir? Yung overdrive button ba ay off or on?

I also think tht you should have a mechanic from a reputable shop check your AT fluid if ok pa yung quantity and if puwede pa. Actually you can see (dapat reddish/pinkish and not brown or with bubbles) and smell it if burnt (bad) or not(good pa). Have it checked asap baka mas masira.

Also, ok pa engine mo ha, no loss of compression or eating of engine oil?
Fasten your seatbelt! Or else... Driven To Thrill!

Did you try slotting it in "1"?

How many passengers did you have? If you had at least 4, expected talaga yan from a gasser AT. But as niky mentioned, same as a MT, you should have shifted to 2 or 1 when you felt that the momentum going up slowed down drastically.

I would not want to make you worry (immediately) that there is something wrong with your tranny if you felt there was nothing wrong for most of the travel. Then again, if your tranny is due for a tranny fluid/filter replacement and you have not done that, that may have a negative effect on its performance.

Follow the instruction carefully. More than likely kailangan mo ng 2 treatment dahil sa age ng car. Para malaman mo kung effective ang Auto RX ay pa compression test mo before treatment and again after 1st treatment.

Also, leave the transmission sa D. No need to turn on or off ang O/D.

Pagbalik mo sa Baguio,- you should try it again....

Had a '98 EK A/T before, and slotting the gear lever in "2" would make the transmission shuffle between gears 1 & 2, not locking the gear.

Could point to another problem, perhaps?

i think you have a point sir, since the only gear options sa honda civic 96-00 AT are P, R, N, D4, D3 and 2, 2 being the lowest gear using only the first and second gear, pero may OVERDRIVE MODE po ba ang model ng sasakyan ko? hehehe, noob lang po kasi.

i think my car runs normally on the flat lands, i've tried running its VTEC and it works, or so i think it does coz its my first vtec, and i have reached a topspeed of 130KM/H.

it was only me, my wife and our little boy riding when i encountered the dilemma and i'm still figuring out what the problem is. pakielaborate nlng po futher kung anu man po sa palagay nyo problema ng kotse ko. TNX

I think that the 4th gear is the OD gear.

slow hill climb
