exterior reminds me of the good ol' 1st gen CRV with a touch of Subaru Forester.
Ha ha ha, everyone's (car manufacturers) so busy scrambling and in the process, tripping over each other, trying to get a vehicle competent enough to fight the Fortuner.
Mitsubishi's trying so hard to bring out the Endeavor, Chevy is supposedly bringing the S3X, and now Honda's supposedly bringing the Pilot. IMO, I'm still more inclined to get the Fortuner anytime over the abovementioned vehicles, primarily because of the Fortuner's styling, performance and most especially because of the price/performance ratio.
Yuck, this thing looks as boring as that ridgeline pick-up.
Good thing interior is not that bad (with steering wheel design being the best thing in this department).
I don't know though if it is a good thing for jap makes in RP to be bringing in vehicles from the American market.
So far, I know that the Nissan Quest would tend to be more of an exception to this since the Quest is a good-looking vehicle both inside-out & with good performance too. Aside from that, it's quite a popular minivan/MPV in US/Canada (and now with this vehicle being newly launched in China & Taiwan).
And since the Presage won't have an LHD platform, I guess that the Quest would be the one that would most probably come here.
Well, let's wait and see.

geh. hehehehe. at least it looks like the 1st gen CRV. i won't dig the looks if it's like the current CRV. :D
yes, especially the Fortuner has a diesel variant... but then who knows, Honda might bring in this Pilot in a diesel variant too.
i'm thinking, if the Pilot would surpass Fortuner in the creature comfort i.e. ride comfort, safety features, etc. yes of course the fuel economy and a potent engine.
Unfortunately, this won't be possible 'til a few years time.Originally Posted by ian_rex

Can they really price it that low? If they can, it must be the base FWD model.Originally Posted by larshell

The base FWD Pilot LX costs $27K, the AWD Pilot EX with leather seats costs $33K.
If you're wondering how expensive that is, its in the same price range as the Nissan Murano and Ford Explorer...
Other than its higher price, its a cross-over SUV, so its far from being a Fortuner competitor.
In the US market, the Honda Pilot's direct Toyota competitor is the mid-size Highlander(aka Kluger) crossover SUV.

sayang naman. if Honda really want to contend then they should try to bring in the Diesel variant. di ba nabanggit kung soft-roader ito? o baka naman, pormang SUV lang?
the shell is olredi 5 years old, a new model will come out in the US real soon
unless honda wants to replicate the fortuner phenomenon, including bad luck with diesel fuel locally sold, then by all means, ipasok nila yung diesel engine.
after all, it's only sold so far sa europe where diesel is very clean compared to ours. hehehehe.
oo nga e. yikes, ang laki pala nang displacement nang makina nito. 3.5L w/ 244hp and 240 lb.-ft of torque. not bad for the horsepower but its kinda li'l anemic in the torque.
This thing is W I D E ! Wider than my Carnival.
I agree with numberr001, Toyota got the packaging right for the Fortuner. Except for supply. On the hand, if the Pilot comes in with the V6 under 1 million Pesos with all the trimmings... why not?
well sana gawa na lang sila ng another market and bring the pilot's luxury brother ACURA MDX
looks somewhat dated but not ugly. more competition is always good for us buyers, besides dashboard looks MUCH better than the fortuner imo.
IMO - Up front looks like a bigger Gen1 CRV. The back resembles an old Tuyota 4runner.
