    hello guys

    i would like to request for some recommendations and suggestions regarding the electrical malfunction of my 2005 civic vti, It started like this, first it happens one morning, after ignition on of the car. the power side mirrors does not work and the A/C does not work also. I notice one of the panel lights of the a/c is also turn off. there was no power/electricity at all in the a/c and side mirrors, but when start to travel and go on with the use of the car, the panel lights in the a/c switch will lit on and the a/c can now be use same with side mirrors, you can now adjust them electronically. The same malfunction happen twice and brought to Honda Makati for checking, they did check it and told me they just resett something in the car, but after 8 days the same malfunction happens, I brought it again at honda and for about two days up to now. they are still looking for the problem. anyone out there who has experience the same problem with my car, pls let me know. Thank you guys

    hmm, immobiliser? do you still use the factory alarm? try pressing the unlock button for 3 seconds.

    you can try disconnecting the batt (positive terminal) for a couple minutes, see if that resets things.

    from your description, turning the wheels somehow activates the electrical accessories control unit. i would check the fusebox, immobiliser and batt terminal connections.

    doesn't sound like an ECU problem to me.

    thank you sir for the reply and suggestion, may i ask what is a immobiliser? actually the car is still with honda, and they werent able to find something wrong in their computers, i advised them to check it manually now, like fuse by fuse and relay by relay and all the wirings. Hopefully they will see somthing or be able to repair it.

    An immobilizer is a built-in security feature which prevents the car from being started without its factory-supplied key.

    Based on your posted problems though, I don't think its an immobilizer or ignition-related problem. Hindi kaya yung mga relays dun sa fuse/relay box?

    thank you sir/galactus for the info, I already got the car from honda, and they did not find any problem. They did a manual checking of all the relays, fuse and other electrical wirings and can't seem to find the problem. They suggested to use the car and let it break down totally or observed if the same problem occurs. They also told me something under the dashboard, the multiplex of the car, they suggested to change the multiplex instead, but inform me the cost of it being change at around 13-14k. They finally told me to use it for the mean time and if the problems become prevalent, then they will just change the multiplex. What do you think guys? thanks

    multiplex? last time i heard that was when i had to turn the balance knob on my stereo to the left speaker so i can sing along to a tape without the orig vocal... hehehe.= just kidding.

    baka ECU yun (engine control unit), aka computer box... it's what controls the various modules in the car, from engine management to transmission.

    i say forget about it. tighten the batt contacts, though. or if you have an old batt, buy a new one. baka nagkaka fluctutation lang sa electrical yan.

    Bro., your 2005 Honda Civic comes only with a factory-installed alarm (using your car horn) and a central-locking feature. No immobilizer.

    Go ask Honda again what they did with your car. Reset may seem the remotest solution. But with it, I get worried because of a possible bigger (and more expensive to resolve) problem.

    mukhang tama ka CVT, na confine ulet si civic sa honda mkt. nag malfunction ulet...ayun dhil sa nka shutdown ang a/c system ko, pati yung blower pala nun ay nka shutdown din(initial diagnosis ng SA,bka yung power transistor ang culprit), nag overheat ang kotse,pagdating ko sa garahe ng casa,dahil cguro isang blower lang gumana or nadamay nadin sa electrical malfxn(ndi ko na nga alam)...so far the report is, change sila ng relay sa a/c syatem ,coolant and radiator cap. my only worries is, nung nag overheat ang kotse, yung temp gauge ko sa dashboard,ndi nman tumaas,nsa gitna parin. pero yung coolant ko ay sumisibol sa reservoir at umuusok sa init! nagtataka nga ang SA ng casa, kung bakit ganun..hopefully by weekend. ok na si civic, patay ang budget sa summer vacation nito! heheheh
