been contemplating about these two Civics manual 1.6 vs 1.8

since pwd mo nmn sila pormahan pa konte konte

    budget is around 250-270

sabi nila mahal daw sa gas ang FD (told by co-worker na may FD na ayaw i benta sakin XD)

walang safety features ang 99-00 SiR vti

xempre mas bagong modelo ang FD

mas madali hanapan pyesa ang 99-00

tho i have 2000 mdl crv manual im planning to swap it.. medyo meseket sa gas

    any recommendations will be appreciated

Civic FD over the Civic EK, they are more modern in style and features plus better interiors.

Based on inputs from folks here, difference in FC is negligible. The good thing about the engine of the FD is that it is still being used now on the current Civic generation (FC).

Your daily route and driving style are more critical factors on your fuel consumption.

That’s good enough. Early model FDs are priced around 300k. Make sure to check its maintenance history.

nun naghanap ako auto last year, may nakikita nakong fd na ganyan price range upto 300k.

Kung EK SiR, go for it (lalo na kung stock, no mods). Kung yung mga VTi or LXi models, naah just go for the newer FD unless it is priced below 200k. If getting an AT tranny, check for sliding as late 90s model Hondas with AT tranny have the tendency for sliding if it was not properly cared for. At 120k to 180k, you may just consider a late model 6th gen Accord (2001-2002). The Accord has a more powerful engine, a more robust suspension, and a more comfortable ride without compensating handling and performance. Maintenance is not much a problem with a 6th gen Accord unless you have a broken engine or tranny.

For the FD, the most common complaint is the stock engine mounts which tend to last only around 40k-50k kilometers. The R18 engine, like the smaller L15 (City, Jazz) and bigger K24 (Accord, CRV) can take in various oil viscosity - from mineral 10w30 to semi-synth 5w40 to fully synthetic 0w20/5w30/5w40.

But its not about being a pakboi kya ko gs2 ang ek. My father used to hve accord. Its very spacious sedan kaso 2.0L ata. I just want the mini version of that and thats EK. I cant afford legit SiR.
May nakta ako mamahal kc benta nla around 220-230k

    And im all about manual.

kung gas lang ang concerns mo keep your crv. my son went thru 3 civics lxi vti and SIR lahat
manual never had a major problem lahat quality (may mga gastos din) medyo mahal lang
talaga ang well taken care of na EK its the mystic in these EKs kaya still sought after. but
remember its a 20-yr old car somethings got to give up (mechanicals huwag ikaw) yung SIR
kasi (yung sa akin) if you have the passion to meet the concerns of a 20- yr old civic
then go for it i'll still pick EK over FD basta konting concerns lang

i just love how EK looks.. they never get out of style.. lalo na pag color navy / blue / yellow / orange at least for me..

sarap nya damitan.. wala naman magagalit eh

isipin mo mas mahal pa LEGIT SiR kesa some of 2006-2010 FD

taas pa rin ng resale value

but once i get my civic i really hope di ko na sya ibebenta..

my crv is good may minor prob lang like pinto na di mabuksan window etc. but i really love civics.. so.. i need to let it go.. unfair sa kanya hahaha

Sad truth - not all EKs are SiRs.

Pero kung gusto mo talaga ng EK, then by all means even the LXi will do.
