    Guys,

I think Honda will launch this march the Honda CRV at 999K! only for it's 4x2 MT. But there are items that was removed / changed. For example, this time no Fog Lamps, No CD Changer, only single dash in CD (No MP3), and No Spare Tire Cover.

I really think this is still a good buy with so many competition right now.... We are thinking of getting an SUV and at first tend to get the Tucson, but with this price, we are now thorn between the two.

    Regards,
    Lucas

the escape / tribute 4x2 is still a better buy in my book since they both have 2.3L engines already and automatic tranny.

At 999k, that is indeed a very good deal. However, I'm still for the "ride quality" of the Escape2.3(which is also at 999k) or Tribute2.3(1.160M). Hyundai better be ready with this promo, their 888+K Tuscon promo is under attack. And I am sure that people will go for the Honda badge.

    Hi,

Is Ford Escape also at 999K? It is not listed on their site at that price.....

    Hi LucasVN,

I'm not sure if it still is, but I asked for a quotation late last year for the 2.3 Escape and it is under promo for 999k and they are willing to give me freebies like mudguards, dvd players, etc. But I guess the prices must have changed already because of the EVAT or whatever. The Escape is "cheaper" than the Tribute. I didn't buy the car though, slight change in my priorities.

I inquired at the Ford dealership at the Fort earlier this month and was told that the 999k promo ended last December. The base price for the Escape is now back to 1.098M.

if body color bumpers at 999k, ok na yan Honda CRV. although I prefer the current Escape over the current CRV, good choice pa din ang CRV for practicality reasons ... maganda pa din reputation ng CRV's dito sa tin.

and wala na nga ang advantage ng Tucson bec. of that promo price. yun nga lang physically napapangitan ako sa black bumpers ng 4x2 CRV.

They're probably just disposing stocks with a new model coming up based on the platform of the new civic.

Would have been a good buy if it came with an automatic transmission.

Btw, the all-new CRV is still far from hitting our shores. Most likely by 2nd quarter 2007 and expect it to look uglier intially with standard black bumpers like the current CRV when it came out in 2002.

i am not sure about the current price of the ford escape, but the overall ownership cost (including parts and service cost) should be a lot cheaper for the honda crv. ford parts and repair can be quite expensive.

    I believe the 999K CR-V is the FWD M/T 5-seater variant.

Earlier this month there was an Escape 2.3 A/T displayed at Greenhills, price was P999K.

I think Honda just wants to ride sa popularity ng Tucson 2WD at Escape/Tribute 2.3L but very common na ang CRV these days kahit new pa ang specs nyan...May diesel CRDi 2WD na A/T na Tucson at nasa 1.050.000 lang siya

Sobrang laos na yang CRV, kaya Honda is really pulling all stops to make it as affordable as possible since the vehicle has long lost its appeal. On the road, there are a sea of pre-mid-life-facelift CRVs mostly in silver and red. I dont see many facelifted CRVs on the road.

hmm i agree...andami ng CRVs on the road these days. although it's a good car parang nawala ng uniqueness of owning one. but then again who cares di ba? maybe it's the performance not the "looks". i did the rounds this pm and took a look at several suvs and pick-ups...seemed like the crv had the best features and price. didn't get to see the tribute though but they say the interior is kinda bland. performance-wise i have yet to hear someone say if the tribute's better. anybody?

Yap, i find the interior of the tribute dull and lacks excitement or the aggressive feel when your inside. But its a comfortable SUV something for the corporate executive who rather wants to be driven around by someonelse. The looks of the Tucson is very aggressive and fits the personality of a young adventurer. To compare with the CRV,yes the CRV is something very common in the eyes of many and that takes away the excitement. Pero if you look at the safety features such as dual air bags,EBD,ABS,and rear disc brakes in which the tucson doesn't have at a price below 1M. The CRV and Escape is still an excellent choice for the money below 1M. But if you just want to be new on the road and not mind the lack of this safety features which what your supposedlly paying for, Tucson ka nalang.
