    mga bossing, help naman po,,nag oover heat po ang car ko pag umaabot ng 100 to 110kph,, tumataas po ang temperature almost 3/4. kahit d po naka erkon., nagpalit na ako ng water pump, kasi dati may tagas.,,d naman po nauubusan ng tubig ang radiator, laging puno naman,. salamat po!

    Sir parehas tayo ng problem ng kotse ko, 99 vtec ung sakin naman pag naka on ang aircon tumataas ang temp. off ko lang aircon baba na sya, na try ko palitan ung thermostat ganun din ung water pump di pa, bka kako dun sa thermo switch kasi matagal mag on ung aux fan ng radiator.

    baka thermostat sira nyan sir. try nyo tanggalin pag hindi na tumaas ang temp sira na thermostat nyo. di na bumubukas. pwede din clogged radiator. try nyo palinisan. hth

    D15B tnx for the info & also sir awi1103,, sir awi, ano po nangyari,,nag palit na ho ba kayo ng thermo switch?.. sa ngayon kasi papalinisan ko muna siguro radiator,, then pag uminit parin thermostat naman,, huli ko na lang siguro thermo switch,,pag meron pa rin,, yan lang,, d ko na alam na naman.. lifeline ulit,, salamat po,

    kapag napalitan mo na ang thermo-switch at meron pa tumataas pa rin ang temperature mo maaaring may mahina na ang auxillary fan at baka meron na rin sira ang cylinder head gasket mo at yan kung sakali lang naman

    things to have checked, pinakamura hanggang pinakamahal:

    1. coolant sa rad (coolant o tubig lang? dapat may coolant. kukulo agad yan pag wala)
    2. busted fans. ipa-recta mo yung thermoswitch, pag umikot yung fan, sira ung switch.
    3. stuck thermostat. patanggal mo muna. if the above are ok, run the car again fast after a slow drive warmup of 10 mins or so, if it doesn't overheat, sira yung thermostat. palitan...
    4. blocked rad. silipin mo yung fill hole kung may parang maliliit na bato. mahal magpa overhaul ng rad, nasa 3000 daw sa denso, palit tanso yung top instead of plastic.
    5. finally, headgasket and water pump. pag either ay sira, you will overheat talaga * high engine speeds.

    pansin ko lang sir sa mga honda na below 2000 model ang common problem eh dyan sa may radiator kaya karamihan nag ooverheat sa mga nakausap ko ung fan nila nirekta na nila para tuloy tuloy ang ikot ng fat

    yung jdm ek sedan ko ang nasira pa lang is yung thermoswitch nya. lahat original pa rin. mukhang di pa napapalitan kasi sa japan naman after 5yrs na kotse junk na.hehe.. '97 model yung sa akin. karamihan nga na kasabayan nya na phdm model marami nang bumibigay. kahit yung sa pinsan ko bumili sya ng second hand na ek96, naka rekta na ang rad fan. pag on pa lang ng key andar na kaagad ang fan. dumaan na siguro ng overheat sa previous owner.

    oo nga eh. far as i can see, ito ang weakness ng mga honda, prior to year 2001.

    thermostat, radiator, thermoswitch, mga fans, aircon at pang ilalim.

    the engines, body, styling, space, are all excellent, though. ride comfort is good too.

    I had this problem before.
    I had almost replaced everything (water/coolant, thermostat valve, including new radiator) but it all boiled down to the thermostat sensor that sticks to the engine.

    It senses the temperature and turns on/off the cooling system.
    If it is broken it will not accurately gauge when to turn on your cooling system.
    Have it replaced but only use original, I repeat, original thermostat sensor.
    This will solve your problems.

    Do not have your thermostat valve taken out.
    You will need it when driving in high altitude cool places like Tagaytay and Baguio since the engine performs at its best when the temperature needle is in the middle.

    maraming salamat sa mga nag reply sa problema ko, radiator saka water pump ang naging problema, maykonting tagas water pump,,radiator ko barado, pina overhaul ko muna kasi wala pa budget,pag makaluwag luwag na,,bili na lang ako bago,,

    Congrats bro. I had the same problem. Di ko makita kung saan ang problem. Minsan ok..minsan bigla bumababa water sa radiator..Then later on I found a pinhole leak at the neck of the radiator top cover. Kaya once na pinalitan ko..problem was solved. running now for years.
