Honestly, wala akong nakikitang sense na sa Pinas gawa yung City and BR-V...

For a company's perspective, either Thailand or Malaysia, since connected sila sa mainland South East Asia and Malay Peninsula.

Made in Indonesia, malaki naman talaga market nila.

Parang Ford/Mazda lang yan dati... Mas madaming cars na nilalabas, kesa sa cars sold locally.

Different case. GM will do a complete pull out from its remaining right-hand drive markets. Honda will stop local production/ assembly but will stay in the Philippines, the only difference is all models will be imported CBU.

I mean, kaya nga lumabas mas mahal srp niyan kasi dito gawa.
Diba yun nga rason bakit pullout na ford and isuzu sa local production, dahil mas mura pa iparating galing sa mga kapitbahay natin.

So panu naging makapal mukha sa pricing yun kung reality yun sa local production dati pa?

Covered naman kasi iyan ng international QA ng Honda, so there should be minimal differences between assembly sites....

And they would normally go for the most cost effective option...

Honda to shut down car production facility in PH due to ‘market forces’ | VISOR PH

    Article from Visor PH.

I don't thnk most of us here had any illusions that building cars in PH was a tad more expensive compared to others, but I've been trying to look for the article where I found importing cars from elsewhere were, on average, 20% cheaper than building them locally here.

So far, this is the only article that lightly touches on the matter, but no exact figures mentioned about the difference in importing from other countries.

Maybe one factor also from what I read is that yung union group ng mga workers ay from KMU, if pinasok yung company ng KMU for sure sasara yan.

Could be one of the factors (is this confirmed?).

Their plant is in Laguna,- malakas pa rin ang mga unions diyan.....
