My Civic jst passd the 2003 emission test

It cost P300 and the test was done no little than 10 minutes. Emission was done in Parañaque near Caltex(park and fly)

Basis or guide so you will know you pass:

They wud stick this long metal tube inside your muffler
and REV it up to 2500rpm only(so dont let them bastard rev it up to redline)for about 2 minutes

    Pic
Dont stick this to your bunghole It wud hurt for sure!
    Trust me

A Computer inside the booth will read it and all numerical thingy will be set to Zero
    Hydrocarbon and Carbon Monoxide

Then results will be displayed, I think the meter wud play around and then get the average

Then some hot chick will give you this certificate with the result on it and of course with the official receipt which you will use for registering your vehicle.

These are my results, out of 600ppm for hydrocarbon I got 346ppm and for Carbon Monoxide of 3.5% I got 1%

They say that you can have the emission testing done at any branch and just bring the certificate to your favorite LTO branch

How long will the validity of the certificate last ? Up to 2500rpm lang talaga ang patakbo even for diesel engines ? Kasi when my Hilux got flagged down here in Makati parang ri-neredline nila para bumagsak talaga. That was last year. So 2500rpm is really part of the guidelines for testing ?

Got my car tested last saturday and passed.

    92 lancer gti
CO reading 2.73% passing is 4.5% for car model < 1997
HC reading 278 passing is 800

    Noticed their price:
    1st test = 300 php
2nd test = 100 php (pag di ka pumasa sa 1st test)
3rd test = 300 php (pag bumagsak ka pa rin sa 2nd test)

    Certificate expires after 2 months

Among our cars tested for emission, the Lynx, that's relatively new, hovers around the borderline passing mark.

To give you an idea how lynx fared compared to the others, here's the list from bad to good. None failed btw, but it's unerving to go to the emission test center unsure if the car will pass the test heh-he.

    1. 01 Lynx Ghia
    2. 95 Nissan Sentra SS
    3. 92 Mits Lancer Gti
    4. 96 Honda Civic VTi
    5. 03 Honda Civic VTi-S
    6. 04 Toyota Altis VVT-i

Surprisingly, this more or less is the order in which the cars performed in terms of fuel efficiency! (Lancer fared worst in fuel consumption as this is a heavy car with just 1.5L engine)

    How about your rides peeps?
