Honda Civic 2001-2005 Information

Good Morning!

Start lang ng thread tungkol sa 7th Gen na Civic. Since wala akong makita na existing dito. Share ko na din 2002 civic ang gamit ko VTI-S(white) all stock.

Gusto ko po sana magkaroon kaalaman sa pag kakaiba at kung ano ang nagbago per year Release ng series na ito. From 2001,2002,2003,2004 at 2005. Facelift,body, etc.

Napansin ko kasi yung saken (2002) Wala siyang sideskirts at chin na stock? OEM? at un 2004 model ata meron na siya kasama? Kung sakali bibili ako nung 2, saan kaya meron? at ano maganda brand, at kung magkano narin. Maraming Salamat. God Bless!



PS: Noob question, hingi lang po ako ng additional info para mas lumawak knowledge ko. Anu po ba pagkaka intindi nyo sa OEM?

been a lurker diyan sa forum na yan for a very long time na rin getting inputs here and there kung pano bihisan ang 7th gen kahit 8th gen ang meron ako hahaha lol

oem=orig equipment manufacurer. its the same banana less the honda logo. its actually from the same manufacutring outsource of the factory.

anyway, i just found out recently na meron na palang brand na "OEM". na-peke ako... akala ko "OEM" na definition ko sa taas. replacement brand lang pala...

One thing i have noticed for the series of the civic's you've mentioned, is sorry for the word but they all flopped. No pun intended though, I loved the series of the civic way back from 96-'00 Though I have to admit, the civic made a HUGE comeback with the FD. But with the horrible feedback i have been reading of the new civic, I think Honda is up for another vicious cycle and i guess I won't be a huge fan anytime soon.

Bakit parang outcast and ES civic sa lahat ng civic model na lumabas dito? May be due to the recall issues? But this also happens to other Honda cars like Jazz and City bakit di naman sila outcast.. Reliable naman ang 7th gen civic as the other civic like the EK, FD, EG....

I just bought a Honda Civic 2001 but I don't know if it is an ES or whatever. Pano ko ba malaman?

Anyway:

Since 13 years old na yung car ko second hand ko binili ito mga naging problems ko.

1. Maingay opag tumatakbo, akala mo malalaglag na yung kaha. I thought merong mga kalampag, sira ang suspension pero ayaw kong mag kagasta ng malaki kasi wala pa kong pangastos. Ginawa ko check muna ko sa lob ng cabin, sa trunk sa engine compartment for loose parts and this is what I found,

a. An AA battery sa trunk...parang lna laglag lang sa stereo speaker sa likod.
b. A plastic comb na nasa likod lang ng back seat,
c. Loose na turnilyo sa glove compartment
d. Yung lock ng glove compartment maingay - ginawa ko binalutan ko ng teflon para mawala ingay
e. Loose na turnilyo na nag hohold sa spare tire,
f. Yung nag hohold ng seat beslts inayos kko kasi nag babangaan at maingay pag nalubak.

Result? - Walang kalampag. Walang ingay at all. Brand new ang takbo nya. Lesson learned. wag muna dalhin kung saan, DIY muna it will save you a lot of money.

2. Tumutulo ang engine oil - the oil is concentrated sa oil pan sa baba. Sabi nung mekaniko, oil pan seal at crank shaft seal daw nakung saan labor pa lang abutin na ng 4k mahigit wala pang parts. Do DIY muna.

a. Google, most of the oil leak problems daw ng civic galing sa VTEC solenoid.
b. Second opinion - merong magaling ma mekaniko na nag confirm sakin na madalas daw yan ang problema.

SO we checked, tinangal yung air filter pati housing etc. COnfirmed, VTEC solenoid nga. Palit ng gasket.

Original Solenoid gasket (wag daw ako bibili ng replacement) - 650 sa Honda Fairview.

Pakabit - 200. Total cost 850. ANg layo sa mahigit 10k na kinokote sakin.

Lesson learned, wag mag tiwala agad sa mekaniko. And also do your own research. Importante din yung kaalaman mo.

3. Minsan nag over heat yung car. Dinala ko sa gas station - walang tubig radiator.

a. Ang gamit ng previous owner ordinary water. Hindi mo ma notice an leak dyan kasi nag eevaporate habang tumatakbo ka. so pag binuksan mo engine wala kang makitang leak. Kasi ubos na yung tubig.
b. Ginawa ko nilagyan ko ng coolant. Dahil merong kulay ayun nakita ko na kung saan na leak. Nasa hose pala. Kung marumi yung pinag kakabitan ng hose lalo na kung old car tulad nito, uneven na yun kabitan nya, dun lumalabas yung coolant. So nilinis lang lahat yun then nilagyan ng silicon, kinabit, wala. Ngayon wala nang tulo.

Overall, I am happy with Honda na nabili ko. !3 going on 14 this year yet I feel like I am driving a brand new car. And what is best about it is that the previous owner doesn't smoke. So wala akong abango sa lob. I am just using charcoal.

2004 Civic din yung daily car ko. Mahilig din ako mag DIY especially sa mga rattles, and other simple-to-fix items. Kapag may naririnig ako na rattle, I listen closely as to where the rattle comes from and I fix it myself. I also keep the paint very shiny, and keep the interior clean and smelling good. Everytime other people ride with me, especially those who arent car savvy, they always ask how old the car is because it seems new.

What I dont like lang, compared to other cars, is the road noise. Hindi naman masyado malakas, pero I really like how other cars like my parents cars, sobrang tahimik habang tumatakbo. Bumili ako ng Flashband sa Ace Hardware and nag DIY install ako sa 2 front doors pa lang. Medyo nabawasan yung noise ng konti, and mas maganda na yung tunog pag sara ng doors. Kapag may time ako, pati yung rear doors, and maybe sa flooring lalagyan ko din para maging mas tahimik.

Mga sir at car experts jan. I need help sa 2.0 civic fd 2006 ko na 2nd hand. Pasumpong sumpong lumalabas ung EPS light causing the steering wheel to be super heavy making it hard to drive. Dinala ko na sa casa sabi maluwag lng daw ung cable harness and for a month umayos cya. Now bumalik na naman ung sakit nya. Sabi nun mekaniko bka daw palitan na dn gear assembly nasa 50k sa casa. Bka meron alternative way pra maayos to? Masyadong malaki ung 50k for a part. Any suggestions will do. And I'm from imus cavite pala. Kng meron malapit na expert dto sana ma suggest nyo.
