Need your help mga master..anu kaya problema ng city kpag hard starting? Hindi ba kapag mahina or problematic ung batt maapektuhan din dapat o hihina ung busina or it's not always the case? Automatic po ung kotse and as expectd ok kpag isineries ung batt (kc syempre tumaas ung voltahe)..maari kaya na starter ung problema? Kung sakali magkanu kya aabutin pagpapagawa? Btw, 51K na ung mileage..tnx mga sir.

you have to diagnose it carefully... start with the battery.

just a thought, i had a friend with the similar model ng city mo.... same problem... ignition coil ang problem.

Our 09 City A/T does not have this issue yet....

But our mileage is still below 20KKm, and we have not yet changed the original battery.

Iba pa yung ignition coil sa starter, starter problems are usually for much older cars, repair would probably cost around 1k if the problem is with the starter solenoid.

In my case with ignition coil problems usually the vehicle would not start anymore until you replace the coil, around 2k yata bili ko dati pero ibang model ng kotse.

I would start by having a battery shop check the health of the battery.

Thanks mga sir.. Battery po una ko suspect pero since ok nmn ung busina at ilaw s panel, im thinking bka hindi battery ang problema..so i thought better ask for opinion muna bka meron n dito nakaencountr ng gnitong issue.. Kung starter man ang prob, any idea how much would it cost for repair or replacement.

    ganito yan eh....
    start ka muna sa battery.
tapos check mo yung spark plugs and high tension wire.
    tapos check mo yung distributor.
    tapos starter.
tapos tsaka pa lang yung ingition coil.

kung repair lang naman ng starter, mababa lang yan..... baka mga nasa 2k lang yan the most.

ang yes, by having your horn and dash lights working does not mean to say na ok pa ang battery. the battery needs around 13volts to start-up. the horn and the dash lights can function even if the battery is below 5volts na lang.

AFAIK, city 09 does not have distributor or high tension, fly by wire na.

I'm noob din sa kotse but I'm more in electronics. With sir 1D4LV's comments, pwede mo TS (RafiTriya) tap a voltmeter sa positive(+) and negative(-) terminals ng battery. Ask a person to start-up the engine while you're checking ano minimum voltage pumapalo sa voltmeter.

in addition to this, it may have ample voltage but does not have ample amperage. kaya hindi na kinakaya ng husto ung cranking ng makina mo.

my suspect is the battery. have it (1) checked by motolite - free of charge and (2) if it is still good, have it inspected by electrician - might be an alternator issue or connection issue of poor charging.

dami pa sir possibilities pero yan alng naman mga basic niyan. and it is better to start with the basic, it is free anyway.

Dapat ba nka idle lang or need i-rev ung makina?

Many 90's and earlier EFI vehicles still use the traditional distributor cap+high-tension wire ignition system. Newer cars have replaced that with individual coil packs (one for each cylinder).

May experience ako, isang araw ok one click ang kotse, next day ayaw mag start. Kahit redondo wala. Malakas ang busina at ilaw. Pinalitan ko ng battery. Ok agad, one click.
