My parents are going to buy a new car and they are sold on the City 1.5. I'm thinking that they should go for the entry level Civic instead but the agent that they spoke with said that a new Civic will be coming out next year so the Civic might get "old" in a few months time. They will be paying in cash.

What is the FC of the 1.5 City and the 1.8 Civic?

What would you suggest? There is a difference of 30k between these two, can you Honda experts shed some light into this?

    Thanks

If the new 2011 Civic would be the same in the video:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDffgtjd7Sc"]YouTube - 2011-2012 Honda Civic caught testing in Dubai[/ame]

I would rather have the current 2010 Civic model than the new 2011 model.

The City 1.5 has a bigger trunk, is better loaded and has slightly better economy in traffic.

The advantages the Civic has are elbow room, speed and customizability. The only problem: Tell your parents the Civic is better because it's faster and can be made to go faster, and they are definitely going to get the City.

52k pala difference(I was looking into the top of the line Jazz) which is still alright.

Whats the difference of the 1.8V AND 1.8S Civic Manual?Except for the choice in colors.

Exterior colors (Polished Metal for the S)
Interior colors (Dark vs Beige/blue for the S) <-- honestly, I like the V trim better
    Airbags (0 vs 2 for the S)
    Rims (15" vs 16")
    Foglamps

Also, to help you choose better - what are you looking for in the car?
Do you prefer MT or AT?

From what I've read there is a 3-4km/l advantage for the City which is quite significant.

Guys any other thoughts? They have 2-3 days to decide and I have a big say on it.

    Thanks in advance.

Civic is my choice even if its older; unless of course you really want an a/t.

Larger vehicle, larger engine (but still efficient especially if you're getting an m/t) and all around higher-end model. The Civic also has better rear headroom and if you go out on long trips often, you'll appreciate the larger engine and wheelbase more.

However if its just for city driving and you wont be loading the car with passengers and baggage much then consider the City more.

Test drive also both units with your folks; that's still the clincher as well.

Civic V. Unless, you prefer " toys " over practicality. ;) And ... if you prefer A/T over M/T, which admittedly can get tiring in metro traffic.

New City 1.5 V or 2010 Civic V M/T
