2008 honda city 1.3S/AT-CVT jerks after going through long traffic

hello po mga sirs,

question ko lng po, kasi napansin ko pag natratraffic kami ng matagal (stop and go, for about 30min cguro), pag nakalusot ka na sa traffic at pwede na makabilis around 40-60kph, nagjejerk sya minsan, parang tataas ng onti yung rev pero walang acceleration tas biglang jerk na parang nun lang nagengage..

normal po ba to? or may kailangan ako ipaayos/ipacheck sa casa? complete nmn po PMS, mataas nga lng milage nya asa 40k n ngayon hehe, 60km/day kasi fairview-libis byahe araw araw via commonwealth-c5..

opo sa casa po lahat ng PMS, as I remember sa last kong PMS early June, e pinalitan po yung cvt fluid...

Sounds like a CVTF issue, definitely.

Sir, AFAIK sa casa lang available yung CVTF. Anything else might nullify and render void your warranty.

The CVT fluid required by the City/Jazz is only available at Honda casa. If you want it to last a long time, that is the only place you will want to have it done.

Covered pa ba ng warranty yan? Dalhin mo na sa casa. Mahal masiraan ng CVT.

May sticky thread dyan about recalibration ng CVT. Try mo. Malay mo lang.

Follow up question lng....assuming that our car still under the warranty period..under warranty pa rin ba sya if you changed the CVTF ng regular fluid tpos nagkaroon ng problema sa transmission mo?TIA

Three years ang warranty ng Honda, but if you used a different transmission fluid, and a regular one at that....- then, that is going to be a big issue....

hello po mga sirs,

i haven't gone to casa yet since nde ko pa sya nrerecreate since mareset ko yung cvt (sana un lng kelangan ko gawin para mafix).

Natest ko sya during last week's traffic, 4hours papuntang cainta, same scenario medyo extreme pa nga.. suprisingly nde sya nag jerk, even after ko mag-u-turn (ayoko na umuwi na kame sa fairview, missed my mom's bday unfortunately ) at umandar na at 50-70kph..

isa pang suspetsa ko e yung habit ko every morning, syempre nagmamadali at baka malate, pag egnite daretso drive at alis ng parking..nde ko napapansin minsan naka blue pa yung cold indicator..pwede din kaya eto magcause?

nde ko pa nati-timing-an na nde ko sya hinintay mawala then mastuck sa traffic..pag narecreate ko yung problem malamang yun na yun?

The LED indicator is just a monitor for engine temperature. If it's blue then the engine is still 'cold'. However, it does not inhibit you from driving the car... It's not related to your 'jerking' problem.

Again, have your car checked at once.

Okay, thanks for the info sir, meron parin po ba silang gagawin kahit based lang sa experience ko nung time na yun at hindi na nila marecreate? hindi kaya ibalik lang sakin yung sasakyan without doing anything?

Tingin ko CVT issue din yung sakin. Bumabagsak idle ko ng paminsan causing the car to temporarily stop pero this is coming from a full stop ha. Pati paminsan minsan lang din, not all the time. May mga times na ok, may mga times na nagkakaganun. Pero mas evident siya pag Reverse. almost all the time siya ganun.

Then another prob is nagje-jerk din ung car when switching from D to N. Not sure if this is normal pero mukhang hindi. parang hindi smooth yung transition to N. Pero paminsan minsan lang din.

Anyone experienced the same? 2006 City 1.5 yung sakin.
