Anyone want to share some tips on how to avoid your car from being stolen. I have the alarm system, but I hear that car thieves know how to break the alarm systems.

Ha? What you mean carry parts of your car? Like What?

Hindi ba sapat ang security feature like ng sa Honda yung immobilizer?

maraming nang kotse na may mas advanced pa na system kesa dun sa honda alarm na ninakaw.

dalawa lang advice ko: don't park in strange places and don't leave your parking ticket in the car when you go into the mall.

Actually more than enough na yung immobilizer ng Honda for car theft...but for car jacking... that's a different story.
I was not talking about the FD about the parts na kinakalas ko pala pag nag-park me

eto gamit ko sa 2 kotse namin. mukha di talaga matatangal ng carnapper to unless lagariin nya at tanggalin yun brake pedal. yun sa steering wheel kasi pagpinutol and baliktutin yun steering wheel tanggal na. although less visible sya kasi nasa baba sya nakakabit.

there is a retractable racing steering wheel sold anywhere.. this might help..

But if all else fail... you got Pwned

seriously. Give your ride a maximum security stuffs.

eg. Alarm with Ignition kill, Steering Lock, Alarm that Beeps so Loud. etc. immobilizer...

or pag walang budget. Buy a German Sheperd or Pitbull

^^ hahaha i agree or a chevy. carnapping is not a problem these days from brand new cars bec. of the immobilizer + key tandem.

and that's why thieves resorted to carjacking. they need the key.

and carjacking can't really be controlled. there are times na some important call went in while you are parked or you are arguing / laughing with somebody while idle. during these times, kahit na vigilant or alert ka at all times, fate has a way matching up these times with the presence of the carjackers. it's sort of reverse secret law of attraction.

oh well, whether its randomness or natural selection of the universe na ma-timingan ka, just always be respectful sa nature at wag magaargabyado ng mga tao so that the chances/probability that these things happen to you is close to nil.

these are for gen 8 civic (fd). don't know if other models have the same procedures:

tip 1: enable automatic door lock

Turn Door lock ON for vehicles with auto transmission when the car reaches 9MPH/15KPH:
    1) Make sure the shift lever is in PARK (P), and close the driver's door.
    2) Turn the ignition to the ON (II) position.
    3) Set the Parking Brake.
    4) Push and hold the brake pedal, then move the shift lever out of PARK.
    5) Push and hold the front of the master door lock switch on the driver's door. You will hear a clicking sound, and after about 5 seconds, you will hear another clicking sound.
    6) Release the switch, move the shift lever to PARK, and then turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position within 5 seconds.

Turn Door lock ON for vehicles with manual transmission when the car reaches 9MPH/15KPH:
    1) Close the driver's door.
    2) Turn the ignition to the ON (II) position.
    3) Set the Parking Brake.
    4) Push and hold the front of the master door lock switch on the driver's door. You will hear a clicking sound, and after about 5 seconds, you will hear another clicking sound.
    5) Release the switch, and then turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position within 5 seconds.

Turn Door lock ON for vehicles when shifted from "Park" position. (Automatic Only)
    1) Make sure shift lever is in Park position, and close the drivers door.
    2) Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
    3) Set the Parking Brake.
    4) Push and hold the front of the master door lock switch on the driver's door. You will hear a clicking sound, and after about 5 seconds, you will hear another clicking sound.
    5) Release the switch, and turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position within 5 seconds.

    tip 2: disable automatic unlock

Disabling Door Unlock Modes, both Automatic and Manual

    1) Open the drivers door. [On Vehicles with automatic transmission, make sure the shift lever is in PARK (P).]
    2) Turn the ignition switch to the ON [II] position.
    3) Set the parking brake.
    4) Push and hold the rear of the master door lock switch on the driver's door. You will hear a clicking sound, and after about 5 seconds, you will hear another clicking sound.
    5) Release the switch, and turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position within 5 seconds.

    * All settings of the Door Locks will retain setting even if the battery is disconnected.

i did not post the procedures for enabling the auto-unlock modes.

As with the other anti-theft devices, IMO, they're just deterrents....
