crv OWNERS suggestions lang.

Im planning to buy one.

Im comparing the gen1 and the gen2 but limited lang yung budget ko mga 550k or less or lesser hehehehe.

Ano ba mas maganda?

Prons and cons pls. para makapagdecide ako.

gen1 crv is a classic pero sobrang boxy ang dating. gen2 well, its drives like a car, literally. mahirap na desicion actually. if merong gen2 na pasok sa budget mo, i think ito na lang ang choice mo.

2000 is gen 1, 2002 lumabas yung gen 2.

main diff, gen 1 non vtec, gen 2 i-vtec.

altho maganda rin ang gen 1.

imo, gen1 is old and aging and feels nothing special today. in two years, gen2 will be the same hehe.

get the gen2 if you can. yun nga lang, i think imposible sa 550k yung gen2 hehe

gen1 ata mas ok at least 4wd yung gen2 baka makuha mo yung auv version !

Gen1 is nonvtec? afaik B20 has vtec..the Gen2 is carlike but even the 5 seater seater Gen2 is matagtag compared to the Gen1

gen 1 k na lang, crv, 4 wd , good suspension , smooth driving top speed

BB, non-vtec ang gen1 crv.

gen1 crv ang pinakamalambot na suspension na nasakyan at nadrive kong car. matagtag ang gen2 auv version. i think very much improved na yung 4wd version, pero hindi ko pa natry.

The gen1 CRV has two type , the old gen1 has no overdrive but it has d1, d2 d3, d4 shift, and i think it has 126hp. The newer gen1 have overdrive and has additional 10hp. I hope this help.

Regard to the ride the gen1 has a smoother ride compare to the gen2.

the crv gen 1 had three versions the 1st 1997-1999, 2nd 1999-2000, 3rd 2000-2002 and a sound cruiser model.

The 1st model has no lights on the power window switch and has a weaker engine 128hp. Transmission is at P,R,4,3,2,1
The 2nd had an upgraded engine intake so the the power is increased to 145hp, and added feature are lighted power window switch, rear cupholders, and passenger side armrest, and dual height adjustment seats. Transmission is P,R,D,2,1 od is by pressing a switch
The 3rd just upgraded the exterior, color key upper bumpers, door handles and side mouldings
The sound cruises model came in black and had an upgraded sound system and leather seats.

If you can get the sound cruiser it would be the best but if not try to find a 2000-2002 gen 1. In my experience I had the gen 1 (2001) and gen2 (2002) of the two my experience are the following faster acceleration with the gen 1, better suspension and ride with the gen 1, and what I like with the aircon of the gen1 is that it has a heater the gen 2 does not have it. Overall if you like looks and function the gen 2 is better improvement with the gen 1, but if you like a 4x4 feature and comfortable ride the gen 1 is for you.

overdrive?

don't be misled, lahat ng automatics ngayon merong overdrive. if it has "D3", that is overdrive off. if it doesn't have "D3" but has an "O/D off" button, that is overdrive off.

in a 5-speed manual, fifth gear is overdrive. fourth gear is "overdrive off".

Agree comfort hanap mo gen1 and isa pa mukhang mahirap makahanap ng gen2 sa 550k. Walang pinagkaiba sa ride ng auv yung mag unang labas ng gen2 matagtag sya.

The thing with Gen1 CRV's is dapat parati mong minomonitor yung rear tires mo. Napansin ko to sa CRV namin tsaka dun sa CRV ng tito ko. Ang sakit kasi ng CRV parati kinakain yung inner side ng rear tires kaya di mo napapansin. Mahal panaman ang isang piraso ng bridgestone. Dapat lang alaga sa alignment yung sasakyan mo.
